3. Pupils find 2 other partners to make up a complete team of abbreviation.

- The meaning of the abbreviation.
4. Pupils run and paste completed strips onto the table on the wall.
The first 3 team finishers will be rewarded.

4. In pairs, pupils write an email using the list of phrases.

HEP – Pupils are given 5 minutes to complete the task
LEP – Pupils are given 10 minutes to complete the task

While 3
1. Pupils complete Task C (Lollipop sticks).
2. Peer assessment.
3. Pupils exchange their emails with members of the other groups.
Abbreviation used are highlighted.
4. Using the exchanged emails, pupils complete Task D.
5. Pupils edit the emails with the help of the checklist in Exercise D.

While 4
1. Pupils are given a worksheet containing items from Exercise E (a plan for
writing an email)
2. In groups of 6, using 2 talking chips each, pupils write sample sentences for
each item (Greeting: Hi Uncle Sam)
3. Once the worksheet is completed, pupils number the sentences in the
correct order.
4. Pupils write out the 2 versions of the email. Attention to be given to
punctuation.
5. Gallery walk.

In the spotlight
1. 5 pupils are called randomly to answer a question each on the lesson.
POST LESSON 2. The other pupils jot on their mini whiteboards whether they agree or
disagree with the answer.
3. Pupils who disagree justify their opinions.
