Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today’s scriptures remind us that sinners resist truth, often preferring conflict and division. We are all
sinners and often resist difficult truth and change. Let us be open to truth and smart about conflict! Don’t
try to “win” an argument and lose the relationship. Run the race of life wisely. Pope Francis tells us to
“rejoice at the good of others when we see their dignity and value their abilities and good works. This is
impossible for those who must always be comparing and competing. “The Joy of Love #109”

394 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. “Perpetual Adoration
is an act of profound faith and love toward the Most Holy Eucharist. It draws priceless blessing
on mankind for time and eternity. It is a special satisfaction to the Divine Heart of Jesus, a great comfort
to the Church Suffering, strength to the Church Militant and a cause of joy to the Church Triumphant.
Those indeed, perform a most God-pleasing work, who by their charitable contributions make it possible
for the Perpetual Adoration devotion to flourish.” (Rev. Lukas Etlin, O.S.B.) “The Holy Eucharist, Our
All” We have a vacancy Tuesday 11-noon. Please call Joie at 330-745-6852, today for your hour of love.

Pastor’s Formed Pick of the Week: “The Fantasy Makers”

J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and George MacDonald were the pioneers of the fantasy
genre and their impact is unmistakable. Their works— exploring Middle-earth, Narnia, and other
tales of redemption, sacrifice, and the battle of good and evil—have become best-selling books
and blockbuster movies. Contemporary fantasy writers such as J.K. Rowling grew up inspired
by their works. All three were deeply committed Christians, and their spiritual convictions
permeate their writing. They engaged and challenged from the pulpit of imagination, speaking
truth through fantasy. ”

Spiritual Adoption Program - Month Two – Developing Baby

Your baby is making progress developing all of his external features
and internal organs. His brain is functioning at 40 days. His mother can
hear his heartbeat now on an ultrasonic stethoscope. Baby-teeth buds are
present at 6 ½ weeks. And it has been reported that a two-month old baby
can suck his thumb. From this moment, your spiritually adopted baby
grows and refines his body. But everything he needs to survive after birth is already
present by the end of the eighth week.

energy that filled the campus of the Center for Pastoral Leadership was uplifting. The
prayer and evening Mass was truly inspiring. Many thanks to all who supported The FEST
raffle and made donations to make our 19th annual Catholic Family FESTival a great day of
faith, family and fun…all for FREE…for thousands across our diocese and region. Take a
few minutes to look at the pictures and videos at www.theFEST.us/media. The FEST truly was a
celebration for all generations. Bishop Perez called and challenged the FEST faithful to rise up….respond
to God’s call…and build a better world for all. We are the chosen generation. Save the date for FEST
2020 – Sunday, August 9. For more information go to www.theFEST.us.
