Introduction

According to New Dictionary of the History of Ideas, migration meant

diversification of cultures and physical features and is still continuing throughout the

millenia. Migration was also prevalent in the history with the Africans movement from

one place to another in the northern and western part of the continent. These migrations

resulted in the mixing of cultures among different groups of people from different

directions in the world. Take for example the blacks in some Western countries, it is

said that they were Africans who migrated from Africa. In history, some nationals also

migrated away from their places because of religion. Take for example the Jews, they

were forced or left with no other choice but to move from one place to another because

of people who either persecutes them or enslaves them.

In todays record, migration is still rampant especially to the people who lives in

Asian countries. The number of international migrants worldwide has continue to rapidly

grow, from 220 million from 2010 it has now reached 258 million as of 2017 with the

largest of migrants from Asia with 106 million migrants, Europe comes next with 61

million followed by Latin America and the Carribean with 38 million (Department of

Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat, 2017). Many would

migrate because of jobs, stable life, future security and some opportunities. In some

countries where in war and terrorism is occuring, many people tend to leave their

homes to survive and take some other country as their shelter. This supports the notion

that safety is also considered when migrating from one country to another.

In some other countries, especially those developing ones, they preferred more

of their people to migrate either to work or permanently live in their. They take credits on
those people who can help in the development of their country, in a way that these

migrants contributes to the money exchange of their countries.
