If you are reading this, you most probably follow @Before5am on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
and I am grateful that you have decided to take the next big step with me and the next big step
on your journey to success, joy and fulfilment.
I honestly could not have imagined the response I received from people all over the world about
my work on @Before5am and especially the “2015 Blueprint” series I put together late last year.
So many of you have reached out and asked me to put the “Blueprint” into a book or guide so
that you could create and design the life you want!
So here it is! I have finally put the Blueprint for success into an easy to read, step by step guide
that you can work on at your own pace. I have also created a printable work book for you to work
through and use as you cover each of the 10 parts of the Blueprint for your life!

I created the Blueprint because so many people I have had the opportunity to connect with have
dreams, goals and hopes but ultimately feel lost or feel that their life is just kind of getting away
from them and they aren’t really achieving anything significant or even creating the life they truly
want to live!
The Blueprint is an opportunity to get clear on what you truly want, who you want to be and how
you want your life to be!
This isn’t about writing down some goals and hoping that they come true one day, it is about
taking the time to actually design a very specific and detailed plan for your life – and then
stepping up and taking ACTION to make it REAL!

HOW TO USE THE BLUEPRINT

Hang on…Before we get to work I better give you a few tips on how best to use the step by step
guide to design and build your blueprint for life!
I’ve designed the Blueprint as an easy to read guide with a printable WORKBOOK that will
become your very own BLUEPRINT that you can reference and use on your journey!
PRINT OUT THE PRINTABLE BLUEPRINT WORKBOOK!
The Blueprint is designed to be read on your phone, tablet or computer while you work on paper
and design your own unique blueprint.
The printable workbook will form the basis of your blueprint…Feel free to add your own notes and
pages to the blueprint and make it your own!
I have added plenty of tools and resources you can re – use on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
and it is as simple as printing off the sheet or sheets you want.
WORK AT YOUR OWN PACE – YOU ARE THE ARCHITECT
AND DESIGNER OF YOUR LIFE!
I have designed the blueprint to be something you work on over a number of days and weeks.
Please take your time and create what you consider to be a purposeful and effective plan for
your future!
Each part is best worked on over the course of a week, however I know that many of you will get
through some sections in no time…But for those of you who aren’t able to commit a whole lot of
time, aim to invest at least 1 hour per week on each section of the blueprint! There are no rules,
the main thing is you get through the blueprint and design a truly exceptional life.

• Use colors, use pencils, crayons, highlighters!
• Use whatever tools will help you to create your blueprint and help you connect with your ideas.

There is no right or wrong…..The goal is to design a blueprint for your life, the life you want to live
and the best way to go about that, is to express yourself and get creative!

Before you start any part of the blueprint get into a great space and a great place both mentally
and physically. For some of you putting on some inspiring music might help or you may want to
sit in the park or by the water and really get into a space where you can connect with your inner
most self.
REMEMBER THIS IS ABOUT YOU, SO DO WHATEVER WORKS BEST FOR YOU!
Play around in your workbook and draw out your ideas, write anything you want – this isn’t for the
world to see, this is your opportunity to get clear on what you want and how your life is going to
be from this day forth!

It's time to finally get clear on what you want, who you want to be, what you want to achieve
and do with your time on this planet!
Clarity is the first step. You have to know exactly what you want before you can design it
and build it!
The single biggest reason why most people live an unfulfilled life is they simply never take the
time to work out exactly what they want! They kind of have an idea of what they want but they
don’t really know the specific details and outcomes they are looking to create.
I can tell you from my own personal experience, not knowing what you want leads to a lack of
purpose, focus, commitment and belief! When you know what you want and how you are going to
get it, everything starts to change for you and you become unstoppable!
The Blueprint is your chance to play around with your ideas, dreams and goals to work out what
you truly want.
There is no right or wrong answers. Part one is all about you exploring and connecting with your
BIG DREAMS, YOUR GRAND VISION and YOUR LIFE PURPOSE!

5 KEY QUESTIONS TO GET YOU STARTED

Here are five simple questions (which are also in your workbook) that will ignite a fire within you
and start you on your journey to success and fulfilment!

THE JOURNEY STARTS HERE!


These five questions will serve you well throughout your life especially when you are feeling lost or
uncertain (which happens to all of us from time to time) so make sure you write them at the front of
your journal or in the notes section of your phone….Keep them close by.
Start by investing an hour brainstorming and getting what’s in your head down on paper, don’t think
about the answers in too much detail at this stage.

Now that you have a good idea of all the things you want in your life and what you want to achieve,
it’s time to dig a little deeper and explore your unique Purpose and Passion.
Every day I receive emails and messages from people all over the world asking me how they can
discover their passion, their life purpose and their calling?

There is no easy answer because it is only something you can discover by yourself and for yourself.
However, I have put together a few questions that I really want you to think about and get clear on
because they will help you to uncover your greater passion and Purpose!

what you believe is possible for you!
Whatever your vision, goal or dream is
you have to know with absolute faith and
conviction that you will get there and you
will make it happen and that starts with
believing in yourself and knowing exactly
what you want!
You become unstoppable when your pur-
pose becomes clear within your own mind
and when you believe with everything you
have that it's possible and when you finally
stand up and declare that you will not stop
until you get exactly what you want!
Be relentless and so determined that no
one or nothing can deny you or separate
you from what you truly believe in!

Now that you have gotten what’s in your head and heart down on paper, it’s time to develop
tangible, powerful and purposeful GOALS!
Part two of the Blueprint is all about taking the time to review, reflect and visualize your current list
of “wants” and determine whether you truly want each of those things and if you are willing to put in
the effort and energy to make them happen.

BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, THIS IS YOUR LIFE AND YOU HAVE


TO CREATE AND LIVE A LIFE THAT IS MEANINGFUL TO YOU!
Many times in my life I have had to re-think and reflect upon my goals, removing goals which really
weren’t that important to me or did not propel me towards my grand vision.
My great hope for you at this stage of the blueprint is that you become brave enough to cross
things off and remove the goals that no longer interest you, excite you or fit into your new vision for
your life!

THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO REPLACE SOME OF YOUR OLD GOALS


WITH MORE POWERFUL AND MEANINGFUL GOALS.
Remember you want absolute clarity and you want to start working towards the things you truly
want, rather than things which mean nothing to you....So don't be afraid to cross things off and
rewrite your list a few times covering only the things you truly want to achieve and experience!
Take a few days to reflect on your goals and re-write them…..This is your chance to develop strong,
powerful and purposeful goals that you are willing to fight for and are willing to do whatever it takes
to achieve!

REFLECT, RE- EVALUATE
& RE-WRITE YOUR GOALS

Go down your list of wants and desires and start thinking about each goal and how they
make you feel and whether or not they fit into your new and empowering vision for your life! GOALS

Are they goals that are important to you as an individual or are they goals which are important
to society and how other people view you?
Don’t be afraid to cross off goals and move forward with a new vision for your life rather
than holding onto old goals and desires that don’t really interest you anymore.
Keep writing and re–writing your goals out and be brutally honest with yourself
and your goals and desires!
You want to have GOALS that inspire you and excite you to jump out of bed
and make it REAL every single morning!

WHAT’S YOUR WHY?


Your WHY is what will give your Goals clarity, purpose and power.
Start by asking yourself these four powerful questions:

If you don’t know WHY you want any particular goal, then maybe you need to cross it off your list
because without a strong WHY you simply won’t have the drive to achieve it and make it real. Be
honest with yourself about each of your goals!

TIME FRAME
Once you have absolute clarity and purpose for each of your goals you need to work on a time frame
and a deadline for your goals.
For now you can break your goals into these four time frames:
1 year Goals 10 year Goals
5 year Goals Lifetime Goals
When we get to the planning phase you can start to put an exact time and date next to each goal
because you will have a much better idea of what is involved!

Having clear, definitive and purposeful goals is definitely empowering and in many cases getting PLANNING &
PREPARATION
clear on what you want is the hardest part!
Now that you know what you want, the real work begins....It’s time to work out how you are going
to get there and actually achieve your goals!
This is going to require proper planning and preparation if you are serious about designing and
building an exceptional life!
Goals ultimately become powerless without a solid plan and a clear understanding of how you are
going to achieve them and make them real! Planning and Preparation is the key to success, even
more so when it comes to the Blueprint for your life!

SO LET’S GET TO WORK!

HOW YOU ARE GOING TO ACHIEVE EACH GOAL?


Anyone can write goals down and get clear on what they want but at some point you have to work
out how you are going to achieve your goals and what is required to make it happen!
Start by working through these questions for each of your Goals:
• What are the steps? • What skill set is required?
• What’s required? • Who do you need to know?
• What education or experience do you • What type of person must you become
need to have? in order to achieve your goal?
• How much money? • How do I need to prepare in order to
make this happen?
• How much time?
• What are the top performers doing in
• Do I need to travel or relocate?
that industry or activity?
You won’t know the answers to most of those questions off the top of your head so get online and do
some research, find a video or an article or a book on each of your goals and brainstorm all your ideas
and really work out how you can get there in the time frame you have chosen.
It’s important to remember the more preparation and planning you do now to understand your goal and
how to achieve it, the better the results and outcomes will be in 2015 and beyond!

TOP 3 IDEAS

By the end of the day or week each page should be full of great ideas on how to achieve each of
your Goals!
It’s not going to be easy to execute on all of the great ideas you have found, so the best thing to do
NOW is to circle the TOP 3 ideas & actions you can take to achieve each of your goals!
You should know what your TOP 3 ideas & actions are for each of your goals before you move PLANNING &
PREPARATION
onto Part Four of the blueprint!

SPECIFIC TIME FRAME FOR YOUR GOALS


Now you should have a better idea of what’s required to achieve your goals and how much effort,
energy and time is required.
You can confidently add a specific date and time next to each goal.
You may also want to re-write yours goals out in a more empowering way so that when you read
them every morning and night you internalize the time frame as well as the goal.

WRITE YOUR GOALS OUT IN A MORE EMPOWERING WAY:


“By December 31, 2017 at 5pm I have moved into my dream home in Laguna Beach, California”
“I am the founder of my own fashion label and have $170,000 sales by March 25, 2018”
“I have impacted the lives of over 1 million people around the world through my events, educational
material and social media presence by April 15th, 2016”
“I am debt free and have $5000 in savings by October 15, 2016”

before5am I know that many of you work hard


day in and day out and you are trying to build
something but I'm asking you to STOP building,
working and grinding! Put the tools down!
Most of you don't even know what you're
building...You have some faint idea of what you
want but you have never taken the time to
design it and draw it out and plan it.
The great buildings you see each day around
your city were all designed with specific detail well
before anyone got a shovel or a jack hammer and
maybe it's time you invest in the designing phase
for a few days or a week and design your blueprint
and your masterpiece of a life!
You have to design it before you can build it and
that means sitting down and thinking about what
you want your life to be like and how you are going
to make those outcomes and experiences a reality!
If you don't design and plan your life out you will
have to settle for what life gives you and I know
deep down inside that's not what any of you want.
So this week or over the weekend you better pull
out your pencil and paper and start designing the
life you want and once you know what that looks
like break it down into steps and processes that
you can execute and don't forget each phase
needs a specific time frame so it becomes
tangible and achievable.

Part Four of the Blueprint is your opportunity to really take a good look at yourself
and evaluate yourself!

potential and achieve your goals!

You want to start to design a profile of the person you MUST become to achieve your goals! However
before you can do that you have to look at yourself up to this point and understand who you are and
what your current traits are.
If you are using the downloadable blueprint workbook there are three key areas to work on and I have laid it
out so you can easily go through and compare your current traits with your new more effective traits.

The quality of your life will always be a reflection of the quality of your routines, rituals and habits....
This is because it is what you do most of the time….what you practice most of the time!

values and how to find out what you actually
value in life.
One way to find out what you value is to take a
look at your bank statement.
Your values are what you value in life and the best
way to tell what you actually value is to see where
you are spending your time and your money.
Some of you are going to value adventure and
experiencing life over stability and that will be
obvious with your bank statement.
Some of you will value relationships and that will
be reflected by money being spent on gifts and
going out to meet different friends and family at
coffee shops and restaurants.
Others of you will value comfort and security
and that will be apparent with your spending on
entertainment and home based products.
Some of you will value creativity over anything
else and all your money and time will be going to
your creative endeavours like business and your
craft and projects that interest you.
So take a look at your bank statement over a 90
day period and that should give you an idea of
what you value in your life.
Knowing what you value in life will help you to
understand yourself and why you do what you
do and what is most important to you.

Everything we have covered up to this point is worthless unless you take action and execute in
the real world, every single day!
Nothing will change for you even with the greatest plan and philosophy. I didn't create the
Blueprint for you to let it become just another thing you’ve started that didn't quite work out...I
created this so you get results and see progress and can create the life you truly want to live!
It's Game time, so that means it’s time for ACTION and this week it's time for you to get your
action plan ready so you can execute!

ACTION PLAN
You want to create an action plan based on everything you have covered up to this point including
your habits, rituals and the type of person you must become.....What you need to do and by what
date... Sort through it and work in chunks of 90 days, so it's not overwhelming!  TIME FOR ACTION

Keep your plan simple and focus on momentum and consistency!


In fact your plan for the first 90 days should be so simple and basic that a 10 year old can see
steps and they can easily execute each day and week!
I have put together an action plan template and tool for you to work through in your workbook that
will help you to get started. Use that as a base line and feel free to build upon it as you go along.

to do into chunks or key groups. The plan covers three main time frames:

90 DAY PLAN
It won’t take you long to group each of your goals into each section of the 90 day plan. The
main thing is to prioritize and make sure you get the tasks that must be done in 90 days
down and then fill up the rest of the time with the things you can and want to do in the next
90 days. This will form a basis of your direction and aim for the next 90 days and guide you
with your weekly plan and daily plan!

HOW TO VISUALIZE?

The best way to visualize your goals and dreams is to look at each of your powerful goals and
then close your eyes and imagine that experience and imagine what it would feel like to achieve it!
You may want to add music that motivates you and inspires you while you imagine your goals and
dreams becoming a reality.
There are many techniques for visualizing but by far this is the simplest and most straight forward
way to start getting into the habit of feeling, seeing and believing in yourself and your dreams.
I know many of you may already meditate in the morning, so you may want to add your
visualization time to your morning ritual of meditating. If you aren’t currently meditating in the
morning maybe it is something you might want to add to your daily routine.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE DESIGNED AND


BUILT A DETAILED BLUEPRINT FOR YOUR LIFE!
A life that is no longer ruled by circumstance or uncertainty. Now you know exactly what you want,
why you want it and how you are going to get it!
Hopefully by this stage most of you have already started to take action and are starting to see
some positive changes in your life.
But….Before I let you go on your amazing new journey I wanted to give you a few tips on how
you can maintain and measure your performance and progress!
Having a solid blueprint is great, but it is now the execution of your blueprint that will determine
your level of success, joy and fulfilment.
You already have some tools like your action plan that will help you to stay focused and will allow
you to see your gains, progress and results!
The next part of the Blueprint is about getting you even more focused to perform at a higher level
and make sure your interest and passion doesn’t drop off after a few weeks.
Going forward you need to measure your progress on your journey to make sure you are heading
in the right direction and moving along at a reasonable pace towards your grand vision!
MEASURING
TRACK YOUR PERFORMANCE DAILY PERFORMANCE

You want to get into the habit of tracking your performance daily. There are two easy ways to do that:
• Use the daily Action plan work sheets I have given you and start ticking off your
accomplishments each night!
• Write in your journal at the end of the night and evaluate your day, your thoughts,
feelings & actions!
The key to making progress is to be consistent and work in manageable time frames. A daily
review should only take you 10 minutes at the end of the each day!
Knowing that you are becoming the type of person who gets things done, will encourage you and
make you feel a strong sense of belief & confidence within yourself!

REVIEW YOUR PERFORMANCE WEEKLY


I like to review my week on Sunday evening, before I set up my new week. If you already take
time to set up your week on Sunday night then it really won’t take you long to evaluate your
previous week before you get started.
Use the daily action plan work sheets as a base line for your weekly performance check and also take
some time to reflect on the week…The wins, the losses and the areas you would like to improve!
Put your performance into perspective, by that I mean relate it back to where you want to go, who
you want to be and what you want to achieve in the grand scheme of things.

MEASURE PERFORMANCE

HOW DO WE MEASURE OUR PERFORMANCE?


Everyone will have different ways to measure their performance. It is up to you to decide what the
metrics and values you are measuring yourself against.
The best way to measure your performance is to make your goals and outcomes tangible. It is
going to be easier to measure your performance & progress with your fitness or money related
goals because you can attach a numerical value to each activity and see the progress you are
making each day!
Just like your weekly review or daily review you have to put your performance into perspective –
that is where you want to go, who you want to be and what you want to do…Think Big Picture!
However there are few core areas you can start to evaluate and think about each day or week
that might help you to “score” your level of performance.
Here is a quick list of attributes that you can review and evaluate to see if you are performing
at a higher level and tracking along nicely towards your goals and vision for yourself & life.
• Consistency (Was I consistent this week?)
• Attitude (Did I have the right attitude today?)
• Action level (Did I do enough in the time I had available?)
• Behaviour (Have I acted and behaved in a way that makes me feel proud?)
MEASURING
• Energy (Did I eat well, exercise well, rest well…Do I feel good?) PERFORMANCE

• Achievement (Did I achieve each of my daily goals?)


• Rituals (Am I running powerful & purposeful rituals every morning?)
• Happiness (Am I Happy?)
• Relationships (Have I nurtured my relationships & friendships – added value?)
• Contribution (Did I help others & contribute to the world today and make someone’s life better?)
• Fulfilment (Have I done something for me and done something that fulfils me today?)
I have also added a Key Area performance review worksheet, so you can review your weekly
performance in each area of your life such as work, relationships, finances, etc.
For the goals and targets that you can easily measure by using numbers make sure you are
constantly keeping track and keeping score of your activity level and what you are doing each day.
Challenge yourself and push yourself to perform at a higher level each day!

MAKING PROGRESS

It is easy to start thinking that you are putting in all this extra effort and nothing is really changing
or happening. As much as you may not be feeling like you are making progress, the reality is that
if you are doing your tasks and taking action each day you will eventually see progress, gains and
results. The art of making progress in any area of your life is to be consistent and disciplined over
a long period of time.
Your performance matters, but it is your level of consistency, discipline and dedication that will
allow you to see the results you want…maybe not in the short term but eventually.
The best way to make progress is to keep accomplishing your daily targets and making sure that
you have done your absolute best each day.

You can’t focus on what you did yesterday or the next day…..You have to be completely focused on the
current day and be committed to making it the best day you possibly can, with what you’ve got!
Having clear daily goals and outcomes that you want to accomplish, will guide you the rest of the
way but if you want to perform at a higher level and make progress the best advice I can give you
is to focus exclusively on the current day and focus on making small improvements consistently.

is especially true when you are pushing and trying
to achieve your goals and create your dreams! 

You want to create a default setting…. A way to


protect yourself against the down days, down
periods and the downside.

When things go wrong and they will, it's OK to


feel sad, hurt, upset...But don't let those emotions
overcome you and your momentum and your
progress!

You have to protect yourself and your dreams


from the tough times...This is where most people
lose their focus and lose their momentum and
what you’ll find is you have fallen further behind
on your goals and dreams then you had hoped to
be when you eventually come out of your funk.

So the key to protecting yourself against the


downside is to develop good habits and rituals.
But sometimes that's not even enough to help
you to get back on track, to keep you functioning
and doing the things you are capable of doing!

Take a fresh page in your journal (or use your


Blueprint workbook) and write down some things
you can & will do no matter what is going on with
you and what is going in with your life!

I made a promise to a very special 17 year old boy many years ago, who was laying in hospital
staring at the ceiling as he received another round of chemotherapy - that one day I would inspire
and impact the lives of millions of people!
Every morning I wake up hoping to make a difference in someone's life because I never want to
let that 17 year old boy down after all he went through to allow me to be here today!
That boy was me!
So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to share my gifts, talents and passion
with you and keep my promise to a very special young boy!
Fast forward 15 years......I am blessed & fortunate enough to work with people all over the
world, helping them create and live a truly an exceptional life through my work on @Before5am,
coaching, events and now my first book!
I am passionate about helping people discover their purpose, passion and their ART, It is the very
reason why I started Before 5am! I realized that working on my passion, my dream and my ideas
in the early hours of morning before I went to work on my day job eventually allowed me to work
full time on my passion – part time on my job.
Beyond my work with Before5am, I am also involved in a number of businesses and consult &
advise companies on social media and online marketing. I have been an entrepreneur since I was
a teenager – Not always a successful one… I can assure you of that – But I am happy to say that
