EMPLOYING THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD

1.Ask a question.
Asking a question to other people who have
expertise in science and technology is one of
the most important ways in making a SIP. For
they have read so much.
2.Research your Topic
With the great progress of the development of
things due to science and technology, some
facts that are proven to be correct in the past
but now, they are now replaced. That is why we
must read books that were published recently
and browse the Internet for any news that are
related to science and technology.
3.Formulate your Hypothesis
Formulating an alternative, null, and cause-
effect hypotheses will guide us in making a
science investigatory project.
4.Design your Experiment
Designing your experiment is the same as
planning your experiment. This is very
important because if we conducted an
experiment that we did not plan correctly, our
research will be jeopardized.
5.Conduct your Experiment
Conducting an experiment is the most
important part of a research paper. For the
results of the experiment are the decisive
factors to prove that our research study is very
effective.
6.Record and Analyze the Results
The analyzation of the results must be precise
and accurate. For even a simple mistake will
cause a biased conclusion.
7.Make your Conclusion
In order to make the reader know the results of
the experiment, we must make a conclusion.
The conclusion must be written in a
summarized form paragraph so that the reader
will be interested to know the results.
II.EXPLAINING AND PRESENTING YOUR
PROJECT
1.Know how your project will be evaluated
In presenting your study, you must be aware
how the judges will grade you. If you are
participating in the INTEL and you know the
criteria, you might win!
2.Create an Abstract
A summarized-form of the research paper is
very important. So that the readers will quickly
understand your research paper with the basic
information that you placed in your abstract.
3.Write a Research Paper
This is different from the abstract because the
research paper is so substantial. It contains the
5 Chapters.
4.Prepare your oral presentation
If you are about to present your research study,
you must present it orally. Thus, your voice
must be audible and you say simple words so
that the judges and the audience will easily
understand what you are saying.
5.Make a visual aid
Having a visual aid is very important in
presenting your research study. For it shows to
the audience some concepts in your research
study that are hardly explained orally.
