To many teachers and learners of English a dictionary is a definitive source of information on the spelling, pronunciation, grammatical category, and meaning of words. What they have not considered is the limited number and date coverage of dictionaries available on the market. Any new pronunciation, idiom, word, usage, phrase structure or even spelling generated by an adult especially the one who is looked up to by the society as a good exemplar of English gets spread by diffusion.
