COURSE INFORMATION
1. Course Number :ENG 11
2. Course Name : Afro-Asian Literature
3. Course Description : Afro-Asian Literature seeks to equip students with the knowledge of the
different Afro-Asian countries through discussion of the selected literary pieces written by prominent
writers of these countries. It also seeks to develop students’ appreciation for the uniqueness of these
cultures. Furthermore, the course helps to sharpen the students’ comprehension skills and enable
them to fully understand the principles found in the literary works. It also improves their analytical
skills as they study the different poems, short stories, essays, dramas and novels of these countries.
The course likewise helps them examine their own value system, and the Philippine culture as they
relate their own experience with the situations presented by the writers.

7. Class schedule : 6 hours per week
8. Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of Teacher Education:

The purpose of this task is for you to showcase your creativity and to appreciate different

40% Your comic book must meet the following criteria:
1. Length at least 4 pages
2. A 5 point narrative arc format must be used to structure the storyline (protagonist,
spark, escalation, climax, resolution). It can be a loose narrative arc.
3. Panels should be laid out with a good variety of shapes and sizes that fit the story line,
and include obvious margins where appropriate.
4. Dialogue and/or caption lettering: consistent height and spacing, and easy to read.
5. Comic book should be neat, clean, and professional-looking.
6. You will be graded according to following criteria:
