Non-Intrusive Operations

Non-intrusive wireless control is available. With a smart user-friendly

available to the small quarter-turn
electric market. Using Biffi developed
software for PC and PDA, you can
communicate with the F02 using
Bluetooth® wireless protocols. With the
software, control of the F02 is always
graphic interface, all the actuator set-
up, configuration data, diagnostic
messages and data logger information
is available for analysis and
reconfiguration from your PDA or PC.

PDA Manager
The PDA Manager will transform your
common PDA, or dedicated industrial
PDA, into a strong tool for the complete
control, set-up and diagnostics of the
F02 actuators installed in your plant.
A user-friendly graphic interface
reproduces the actuator local control
panel for easy control of the automated
package, offering several tools for
analyzing actuator status.
The F02 is available with Bluetooth®
non-intrusive communication for both
on-off and modulating operation. Using
Bluetooth® communication, it is
possible to communicate with the
actuator from a distance. In addition, it
is possible to connect to any F02 with
the optional Bluetooth®, as long as you
are in range.
PDA Manager uses Windows Mobile
2003 for Pocket PC (or later) Operating
System, and requires Bluetooth® 1.1
compliant (or later). All the data
exchanged with the actuator in the field
can be shared with your PC in the office
through the PC Manager Software.

PC Manager
PC Manager transforms your PC into a
strong tool for the control, set-up and
diagnostics of F02 actuators. A user-
friendly graphic interface reproduces
the actuator local control panel,
offering several tools for analyzing the
actuator. F02 supports Bluetooth®
non-intrusive communication. The
same graphic interfaces available with
PDA Manager are used with PC
Manager, and are easily synchronized
with the PDA.
PC Manager software supports
Bluetooth® and USB communication
(Windows 2000 and XP operating
systems).

EN ISO 5211 Mounting System

The Biffi F02 uses the internationally

recognized ISO 5211 as a standard
for mounting. This help provides
interchangability with existing valves
and actuators in the field.
Biffi offers dual mounting bolt circles
and dual shaft configurations with the
F02. Every actuator is equipped with a
dual keyed shaft bore and an inserted
star drive adaptor. This allows coverage
of more valve sizes and types with
fewer actuator models.

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Quarter-turn Actuators

Biffi pneumatic and hydraulic actuators utilize a scotch yoke design that generates high
break torque needed for the automation of many quarter-turn valves. The Biffi actuator
can be provided with a symmetric or canted yoke design. The product line has low
hysteresis and high response for enhanced modulating services. Using six bearings
provides reliability, smooth operation and helps extend service life. The guide bar
design supports transverse forces and ensures support of the piston rod. Hard chrome
plating on the guide bar provides corrosion resistance and minimal friction loads.
An electroless nickel-plated cylinder bore delivers maximum corrosion resistance
and reliability.
