Course Syllabus in TLE 7
I- COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Work text in Technology and Livelihood Education for First Year is designed to develop and reinforce students’
values attitudes and skills in the word of work through the practical application of the principles and techniques taught in
Home Economics, Agricultural and fishery Arts, Industrial arts and Entrepreneurship.
A prepared set of objectives at the start of each chapter is outlined to give the students an overview of what they are
expected to attain. Each Lesson is followed by an activity to support and enhance the learning experience of the students.
With the full use of this work text, it is hoped that the students will be equipped with life skills required under the Basic
Education Curriculum (BEC).

II- COURSE OBJECTIVES


 Discuss the factors which influence a person’s outlook in life.
 Explain the rights, duties and responsibilities of responsible parents to their children and responsible children to their
parents.
 Share responsibilities in promoting family welfare by regularly doing one’s functions and duties.
 Explain the value of using seeds
 Explain the importance of soil preparation
 Discuss the advantages of observing proper distance, depth and rate of planting seeds and seedlings.
 Determine the possibilities of raising poultry and Livestock.
 Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of housing facilities, fixtures and equipment.
