Mahasen learns patterns

Mahasen, Today as I observed you set the cones, you were partic-
ular as to where you placed each colour as we had pink & orange
cones.
I noticed what you had done and pointed out to you that you had
made a pattern. Pink, orange, pink, orange, pink. As said each col-
our to show you the pattern you walked along the line pointing to
each cone. When we got the end to continue the idea of the
pattern, I asked what next and you were able to tell me pink. We
repeated saying the pattern a few times and then you were off
playing with your friends. Mahasen, I think you showed an under-
standing of what pattern means as you were able to tell me what
colour would come next. I think you already had some working
theories about pattern as you carefully placed each cone in order.
When I confirmed what you had done you seemed proud of your
work. I can see others observing wat you had done to, you are
sharing your ideas with them too, and contributing to their learn-
ing.
Mahasen you are creating working theories about Maths in your
world, together I'm sure we can find a lot of examples of patterns,
we can even make some of our own. If you already know how to
do patterns of two colours we could do 3 or four!
Mahasen I will be observing your ideas of maths concepts and in
particular patterns.
Thanks for sharing your ideas with me and your friends. Mahasen.
You are one clever cookie!
And you pick up new ideas
