Thank you for downloading the TOA Integrated Voice Evacuation System VX-2000
Firmware Ver.3.12.

The VX-2000 Firmware Ver.3.12 (the "Firmware" herein) is the dedicated firmware
for TOA's Integrated Voice Evacuation System VX-2000, and can only be used
by upgrading them through network. Use these files in a decompressed folder
without deleting or moving until upgrade completion.

This ReadMe file contains the following information:

1. Guidance on the License Agreement

You need to consent to the conditions set out in the License Agreement
when using the Firmware to upgrade the VX-2000. Please read the file
"license.txt" contained in the same decompressed folder before upgrading.

2. Notes on firmware version upgrade

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The firmware is intended for those who are using the VX-2000 firmware
of the version earlier than 3.00 and want to upgrade it.

If you are using firmware of version 3.12 or later, you do not need to
upgrade the version.�@The firmware is a file "VX2KV312.mot" contained
in the same decompressed folder.

To use new functions enabled by the version upgrade, all of the system
must be upgraded to the latest firmware.

3.How to upgrade the firmware version

Follow the procedure for the firmware upgrade below.

Step1. Insert the PC card into the PC card slot.

Notes
�EA recommanded PC card is SANDISK card.
�EYou can use CF card with adaptor.

Step2. Farmat the PC card by way of Windows Explorer.

Notes
 �ETo format the card,select "FAT" from the File System pull-down menu.
�EExecute "Normal" formatting without selecting "Quick" formatting.
�EPerform formatting in the Windows environment without using command
prompts.

Step3. Copy the firmware file to the PC card. "VX2KV312.mot"

Notes
�EDo not change the filename. If the filename differs, the VX-2000's
firmware version upgrade cannot be correctly performed.

Step4. Insert the PC card into the ATA FLASH CARD slot on the front panel.
SETTINGS DIPSW bit2 ON and RESET sw ON located on the front panel.

Step5. The VX-2000's Firmware upgrade begins.

During the upgrade, the ACCESS indicator located on the front panel,
lights on and the RUN indicator flashes at 1-second intervals.

ACCESS indicator: lights �� extinguishes �� lights �� extinguishes

RUN indicator: flashes �� lights �� flashes �� extinguishes

Step6. After completion, the ACCESS indicator and RUN indicator extinguish.
If the RUN indicator does not extinguish, retry step4.

Step7. Remove the PC card, the SETTINGS DIPSW bit2 OFF and RESET sw ON located
on the front panel.

4. How to confirm upgrade completion

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The VX-2000 operates in Version 3.12 after version upgrade completion.
To check to see if the version has been correctly upgraded, start the Setting
Software, select the [Help �� Version] from the menu and enables confirmation
of that"Current version" is "3.12."
