 I. INTRODUCTION

We considered the participation of funding agencies for us to see who has the same goals
and objectives we have. We also asked Metro Electronic Corporation or MERALCO to support
our planned proposition. Their goal is to provide electrical power to each and everyone in the
Philippines. Their services match the proposition we want to suggest. They have various
programs related to electrical power distribution. To accomplish this they need a distribution
line and as our proposition are to give the area a safe electrical distribution. Meralco is also aims
to develop projects that can benefit to all that’s why the proponent chooses this agency because
of the same mission they want to achieve. The proponents’ agency establishes this first project
that’s why they do their best to make the project successful.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is one of the government agencies
here in the Philippines, it is responsible for the coordination of science and technology projects
and to conduct policies and projects to support national development. It centralized the
technological efforts and to make sure that the result is effective for the benefits of the people.
The mission of the proponents is to make a project that can be beneficial to the country and can
be convenient to the people itself.

Our research also suggested that we may also consider the help of an electrical equipment
provider such as HB Lumbang Electric and Industrial Corporation. Considering they were
already located to the area of our planned proposition. They will be familiar to the area and will
surely take advantage to the familiarity of the area said. One of the reasons they were
considered was they provide electrical supplies such as electrical wires that would be mostly
used toward the project. Their goal is to provide innovation for the so-called modern living of
Filipinos. One of their goals also is to provide quality and safety environment. This matches to
our proposition that to provide safe electrical distribution.

JSL Electric Corporation was also a suggested candidate. They are a veteran in this kind
of business. They are expert through control panels, electrical wires, and other electrical
accessories. Their goal is to provide superior customer value. They look for a long-term
relationship to their suppliers and clients.
 II. RATIONALE

Underground electrical wiring system is the method of replacing traditional electrical

posts with underground wiring cables. In this proposed project, underground electrical lines
transmits power on highly populated zones specifically in Quezon City, through properly
insulated wires that carries high-voltage electricity. Some countries in Europe including
Netherlands, Germany and United Kingdom considered using underground electrical wiring than
the traditional over-head wiring system. While in the Philippines, last 2014, Visayan Electric Co.
(Veco) started its first underground cabling system which covers a kilometer stretch from the
Fuente Osmeña Circle to the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

With this project, risks from aerial power lines that draws fire due to high fault currents
would be lessen and illegal installation of jumper wires would be instantly eliminated for the
electrical wirings are isolated underground. This project is also less subjected to destruction
mainly caused by natural calamities considering that the Philippines are vulnerable with
typhoons that further causes severe flooding. Transmission of electricity would be uninterrupted
even if a strong calamity hits the area. Lastly, with this project valuable resource particularly the
land would be conserved. Underground electrical wiring system permits construction of new
establishments and can provide a better aesthetically sensitive area.

The main objective of the underground electric wirings is to lessen the people to contact
in wires and to prevent the entangled wires due to over population. The said project will also
prevent power outages during the typhoons.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A cable fault meter PCE-CL 10 is a cable fault meter that uses the conductive method to
detect metal pipes or pipe tracer wires. This type of cable is good for floors, walls and the ground
even behind concrete brick.

Electric wire with waterproof designation. It will be using as the wire its good for building a
underground wirings.

The requested item and fund for initial design is the estimated value of
equipments that will be used in the project that has an overall budget of ₱100,000,000. The
budget will be used in the project comes from the funding agencies that stated in the introduction
and it will be used for the equipments to make the project successful.
