Introduction

communication of content. Users engage with social media via computer, tablet or web
application, often utilizing it for messaging content includes personal information
documents, videos, photos.
Success in the 21st century requires knowing how to learn. Students today will
likely have several carriers in their lifetime. They must develop, strong critical thinking and
interpersonal communication skills in order to be successful in an increasing fluid,
interconnected, and complex world. Technology allows for 24/7 access to information,
constant social interaction, and easily created and shared digital content. In this setting,
educators can leverage technology to create an engaging and personalized environment
to met the emerging educational needs of this generation Karen Cator stated.
Now this study focusses on how the social media affects the learning of 21 st
century student. Since today’s generation is an advent of technology wherein with the
help of networks you can communicate through online not winding the distance.

Objectives:
This study aims to:
1. To be able to know the impacts of the social media in 21st century learners.
2. To be able to know what social media can be utilized to improve 21 st century
learning process.
3. To be able to know the impacts of social media in academic performance of the
student.

Significance of the study

The importance of this study, impact of social media in 21st century learners is to
know how social media affects the learning process of the 21st century students. Through
knowing it affects we will know if there is a need of improvement so that social media
can’t just be used only for fan but also in learning.
To the student, after identifying the impacts of social media in learning process it
will help them improve their way of utilizing social media.it will help them how to make
use of social media. To students it will help them know the proper social media plan and
strategy in using it increased collaboration, participation, review their team project.
 To the teacher it will help them find ways to improve their teaching strategy and to
be connected w/ their students to make good use of platforms for the working of their
education even if its off campus.
Finally, this study aims to give another idea to propose this kind of research to the
next researcher study or study that is confusing them.
Scope and limitations
This study is limited only in an area of SKSU. College of fisheries which the
respondents will be the first year college. The study will focus only on behaviour of the
students towards social media in terms of their learning process.
