EARTH AND LIFE
DAILY Teacher MISS DIANA JANE T. LAGUNDINO Learning Area
SCIENCE
LESSON Teaching Dates and July 23, 2019
LOG Quarter FIRST
Time 3:00 – 4:00 , Tuesday
I OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
1. the subsystems (geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere) that make up the Earth
B Performance Standards The learners shall be able to
1. draw their favorite place then identify the interactions of the four subsystems happening in their favorite place

C. Learning Competencies The learners should be able to:

1. Explain that the Earth consists of four subsystems, across whose boundaries matter and energy flow.
Given an activity to perform, 80% of the students should be able to:
1. Describe these four subsystems of the earth: geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere;
D. Specific Objectives 2. Discover how the four subsystems interact with each other;
3. Promote environmental sustainability while identifying Earth’s natural resources;
4. Enhance ICT skills through the manipulation of the E-module.
Write the LC code for each S11/12ES-Ia-e4
II. CONTENT Earth and Earth Systems
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURES

Reviewing previous lesson or presenting  Ask the students to describe their favorite place on earth that they have been to.
A.
the new lesson/ELICIT  What makes it very special to them?
 What are the things (living and non-living) that can be found on the place?
Essential Question: How is Earth very unique compared to the other 7 planets in the solar system?
Establishing a purpose for the  Presence of liquid water.
B.
lesson/ENGAGE  It has the ozone layer that protects us from UV rays from the sun.
 It behaves like a giant magnet where its magnetic field protects us from solar storms.
 It is the only planet that can sustain life.
Students will be grouped by four. Each group will use one laptop to access the E-Learning Module titled “THE FOUR FACES OF
MOTHER EARTH (Earth Subsystems). They will collboratively answer the activities in the module.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of the

new lesson/EXPLORE

Give the general instructions to the students in answering the activities in the E-Learning Module.
D.
Discussing new concepts and practicing 1. Each member will have to reveal the identity of the four faces of Mother Earth by completing the sentences given in each identity.
new skills #1/EXPLAIN 2. In writing the answers in the blank, they must strictly follow the case of the letters from the choices.
3. Finish each challenge, in order to proceed to the next slide. Going back is not allowed.
E. Developing Mastery/ELABORATE Monitor each group while going through the parts of the E-Learning Module. Entertain queries from the students if there are any.
G. Finding practical applications. What do you think will happen if one of the four subsystems disappears? Why do we need to utilize the Earth’s resources responsibly?
Making generalizations and abstractions
H. about the lesson Can we treat these four systems separately? Why or why not?
Answer the Checkpoint part of the E-Module

I. Evaluating Learning/EVALUATE
Access the enrichment part of the module to better understand the four subsystems of the earth.

J. Additional activities for application or

remediation/EXTEND
