Based on research from the UN, in 2050, the elderly in Indonesia will increase to

21.4% from 8.9% in 2013. This is in line with the 2010-2035 population projection by BPS which

states that Indonesia will enter the elderly period. With increasing age, physiological function

decreases due to the aging process. This has an impact on the emergence of non-

communicable diseases and susceptibility to infectious diseases.

WHO states that quality aging is an aging process that remains physically, socially and

mentally healthy so that it can remain prosperous throughout life and continue to participate to

improve the quality of life as a member of society. To that end, the Ministry of Health of the

Republic of Indonesia has compiled 7 elderly health programs involving various medical

personnel in each line. In one of the goals of service in SNARS is Geriatric service, how is

geriatric service at the simple level up to the plenary level to be fully discussed at this event. We

hope that with the knowledge that will be provided by experts, geriatric services can be carried

out well in the workplaces of all colleagues.

We invite all internists, rheumatology and geriatrics practitioners, general

practitioners' colleagues, and fellow medical personnel, to attend the Pergemi Konker,

Joglosemar PIT Rheumatology, and the 4th Rheumatology and Geriatric Scientific Meeting. In

these 3 events, we expect to attend can add and refresh all peer knowledge through

workshops and symposiums in rheumatology and geriatrics.
