EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This internship report is about my summer internship at BEE.K.BEE PRINTS PVT LTD.

The report starts with a brief introduction about the background and work done by the company.
It also gives us an insight about the different machines used by the company for its printing
processes and the different clients the company caters to.

In this report I have also included the Industrial profile of the company. The research method
used in this report was a questionnaire using primary data in order to understand the impact of
printing quality and price on the customers, so that the company can benefit by understanding the
core and important requirements according to the customers.

The minimum sample size considered for the report was kept of 100 respondents. A total of 104
respondents had filled the questionnaire. The responses were gathered with the help of google
forms and the link to the form was sent through text messages, social media and email.

In the conclusion we found that both price and quality had a huge impact on the satisfaction of a
customer and were considered important factors while selecting a product but it was seen that
quality had more impact on the consumer than price.

CHAPTER 2

2.1. LITERATURE REVIEW

Review of literature is an important step in the empirical research. This will enable the researcher to find
out the research gaps where he can concentrate on for his research. The following are some of the
reviews of the studies previously undertaken by the researchers' world over. The reviews are classified
as Indian studies and the studies undertaken abroad.

AMDT, JOHN, (1964)1 in his research enrich says that an important outcome of the interplay between
satisfaction and positive word of mouth may be pointed out as the positive communication about a
textile shop, which will always act as a 'reference' among consumers with regard to both routine and
special buying. This enables the retailers to fortify their market share ever in the midst of keen
competition.' A favorable word of mouth communication increases the probability of purchase while
exposure to unfavorable comments decreases the probability'. Facility for transaction by credit cards
can be pointed out as the recent addition to the parameters to judge the functional features of textile
shop.

WESTBROOK, A.ROBERT, (1981)61 has explained that shop preferences seem to be influential in the
behavioral aspect of consumers, because consumers are very keen on selecting and using clothing or
garments on the ground of their 'communicability'. Naturally, they may prefer a shop based on the
product offered, service rendered by the sales force, and the price range of the product. Experience
from a textile shop with regard to these aspects may activate them to mould patronage towards the
shop concerned. 'Consumers' satisfaction with a retail establishment may be viewed in terms of an
individual's emotional reactions to his or her evaluation of the total set of experience realized from
patronizing that retailer'.

According to ZEITHAML, MURALI & LITTREL (2003) during the 1980's a lot of research pertaining to
quality was done. There were also many debates amongst researchers as to what quality constitutes and
how it should be measured .It is, however, clear that there are different views of quality, which are
interpreted differently by marketers and consumers. Marketers are inclined to view quality in terms of
performance, workmanship and service ability standards, and according to one of the opinion that this is

10
how their customers also perceive quality. Consumers, on the other hand, also included sensory and
emotional expressive aspects when describing what they perceive as quality in clothing textile products.

CONCLUSION

The above studies undertaken by the earlier researchers include Consumers' 'behaviour towards
discounts offered, Promotional schemes, Influence of community, Changing fashions, quality of service,
Consumers' demand, Shop loyalty, Consumer decision making, Variety, product quality, Advertisement,
Cultures and sub cultures, Technological and Managerial developments, Nature of textiles goods , and
so on. In India, the studies cover the areas of retailing, the impact of rebate by the Khadhi and Village
industries sector, pricing methods and so on. Studies undertaken in India in the field of marketing of
textile products are limited. Therefore, there is a research gap in marketing of textile products which is
identified for the purpose of the present research.

4.1. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The process used to collect information and data for the purpose of making business decisions is
called research methodology. The methodology may include publication research, interviews,
surveys and other research techniques, and could include both present and historical information.

Primary data has been used in order to fulfill the objective of the study. The primary data is first
hand information that has been collected with the help of google forms.

4.2. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

1) Study the production process at BEE. K. BEE PRINTS.

2) Find out the effectiveness of the production process.
3) Study the impact of quality and pricing on the overall sales of a firm.
4) Find out measures to boost up sales.
5) Analyze among the public regarding printing quality and their buying decision.

4.3. TYPE OF RESEARCH

When the information is collected directly by the researcher for the first time it is known
as Primary Data. It is original in nature and is in accordance to a particular research problem
under study.

In this research I have made use of the Questionnaire Method.

Questionnaire is the most evident method of data collection, which is comprised of a set of
questions related to the research problem. This method is very convenient in case the data are to
be collected from the diverse population. It mainly includes the printed set of questions, either
open-ended or closed-ended, which the respondents are required to answer on the basis of their
knowledge and experience with the issue concerned.

The questionnaire was circulated through text messages, emails, and social media to different
respondents of different age categories. The sample size was taken to be 100 due to lack of time
and less cost. The area of survey was kept in Delhi and NCR as the company deals with clients
retailing in metro cities only.

13
4.4. TYPE OF DATA
Simple random sampling technique was used to derive a sample out of the total population for
research. Simple random sampling is the purest and the simplest form of
probability sampling strategy. It is most one of the popular method for choosing a sample among
population for a wide range of purposes. In simple random sampling each member of population
has an equal chance to be chosen as part of the sample. It has been stated that the logic behind
simple random sampling is that it eliminates any kind bias from the selection procedure and
should result in representative samples.

4.5. PRIMARY DATA

It is the data collected for a specific purpose or for particular objectives. It is customized
according the requirements of the researcher. It exclusively focuses on current research problem.
Primary data is specific information that is collected directly by the person who analyze the data
and information also doing research. Primary data are collected for the first time. This data has
not been published before collection.
Advantages of Primary Data
 Primary data is more accurate because it is directly collected from the population.
 By using primary data researcher may get the latest and up-to-date information about the
product and services and also its environment.
 Primary data collected and processing by researcher. Therefore, the information might be
unbiased.

DATA ANALYSIS

Question 1

As it can be seen in the above chart that majority of the population that has been studied is in the
age group 18-25 and least people belong to the category 50 and above.

The age criteria kept for the study was not fixed but there have been inconsistencies in data
retrieved from the survey.

17
Question 2

The male to female ratio of the respondents is not equal as it can be seen in the above chart.

There are comparatively more male respondents in comparison to the female respondents.

This could lead to views on the printing quality to be a little gender biased and male respondents
were more in number.

18
Question 3

As we can see most respondents preferred not to share their income status.

Due to non response from respondents in this question a clear idea cannot be made regarding the
income, print and quality.

There a clear inconsistency in the income group of all the respondents.

19
Question 4

The 3 options given by the company mainly were Marks and Spencer, H&M, and Next, out of
which the maximum respondents bought from H&M.

Apart from these 3 options there was an others option available wherein respondents could add
brands of their choice.

Out the 3 brands provided by the company the respondents least bought from Next.

20
Question 5

As we can see in the above chart a huge majority of the population has purchased some or the
other kind of printed clothes.

This implies that the respondents have some experience in terms of print purchasing.

21
Question 6

In the above responses we can see that most of the clients are affected by the price of a garment.

High no. of respondents were affected only a little by the price.

This implies that price of a garment is crucial factor for the company to consider relating to their
prints and garments made out of them.

22
Question 7

In the above chart we can see that people are highly influenced by the quality of prints in their
garments.

We can also see that very few people don’t consider the quality of prints so it is definitely a
matter of concern.

It is crucial for the company to maintain high quality of printed cloth to the suppliers in order to
satisfy the customers to their at most.

23
Question 8

A relatively high no. of respondents was affected if the printing process involved in the making
of the product was environment friendly.

This implies that the company needs to follow strategies in order to save and protect the
environment.

Following this strategy may also attract more customers for the company.

24
Question 9

A high no. of respondents said that they have left products because of the bad quality of its
prints.

This implies that the company needs to focus on delivering high quality prints to the customers
as they customer might leave the product which can in turn cause losses for the company.

25
