Engine Adjustment Phase & Disclaimer

The longer you use Eco-Fuel Saver the better the results. Nevertheless, initially,
benefits can be delayed while the on-board computer (ECU) adapts to Eco-Fuel Saver, and while any
hydrocarbon buildup interfering with the fuel injectors is removed. • Generally, the ECU adapts and
resets itself to the newly more efficient restructured fuel. • And, the hydrocarbon buildup issue can
be easily mitigated. • During the first one to four tanks of fuel your patience will be well rewarded.
• The considerable benefits of EFS can be nearly immediate if users of higher mileage vehicles simply
pre-flush their engine with a good quality fuel system cleaner, in addition to using a double dose of EFS
in their first tank; (See Tab sheets #3D, #3E, and #3F)

Two main reasons for any initial delay of optimum benefits

1. The accumulation of hydro-carbon deposits in the engine: Eco-Fuel Saver
improves sealing of piston rings, valve seating, and increased combustion, while reducing engine
temperatures. And, while EFS steadily enhances the breakdown of unwanted (hydrocarbon) engine
deposits, performing as a dedicated detergent cleaner is not the intended contribution of EFS. Full
benefits of EFS and improvements in MPG (with or without EFS) can occur only after the removal of
carbon buildup.

Simple step dissolves carbon buildup to make EFS benefits near immediate:
Again, in cases of higher mileage vehicles, or where thorough maintenance has not been practiced,
then simply flushing the fuel (injector) system with a good quality cleaner will greatly accelerate the
adjustment phase. •

When Eco-Fuel Saver is used in older engines with lots of miles: Eco-Fuel Saver will break down
some of the existing carbon in the combustion chamber that is on the valves, cylinder heads, catalytic
converter. During this phase MPG MAY TEMPORARILY DECREASE, and emissions (primarily diesel
particulate matter) MAY TEMPORARILY INCREASE. Don’t be alarmed if the above scenario happens.
It's a good thing. This increase in emissions MAY LAST FOR UP TO TWO TANKS, after which emissions
will decrease dramatically. (Note: It is important to remember that Eco-Fuel Saver is NOT an engine
"cleaner", however, it is one of many side effects with its use). • For example, a recent Detroit based
Mack truck with 230k miles was tested. During the first tank treatment of Eco-Fuel Saver the MPG was
worse than prior to Eco-Fuel Saver. MPG improved by 6% during the second tank. By the fourth tank
the MPG was improved by 21%

2. The adjustment period is also needed to allow the vehicle’s on-board

computer (ECU) time to adapt to Eco-Fuel Saver, referred to as “adaptive learning”.
The ECU sensors monitor set points for Oxygen levels, and NOx (Nitrous Oxide) and temperature. The
ECU then makes adjustments to the air to fuel ratio to endeavor to optimize combustion at the 65%

efficiency level. Eco-Fuel Saver promotes and supports above average combustion efficiencies (of 85%
to 98%) to occur as a cooler temperature “fooling” the ECU. The ECU needs time to “learn” that Eco-
Fuel Saver is using fuel more efficiently and is producing fewer emissions (good for the environment),
thus making the needed adjustments to allow results and benefits to occur. ▪ Eco-Fuel Saver actually
restructures hydrocarbon fuel by shortening the molecular chains, creating a much more efficient fuel.
The ECU needs to “learn” and re-set itself to the reformulated fuel over the anticipated 2 to 4 tanks.
With Eco-Fuel Saver patience will be richly rewarded.

Reasonable Disclaimers
Mileage and emissions comparison testing (by independent national test labs and
independent 3rd party customers) with and without EFS enhancement showed an average
increase of 8% to 24%+ in gasoline and diesel engines.
However it is important to note that fuel saving and emission reduction benefits of Eco-
Fuel Saver will vary widely due to the many variables involved including: variations of engine
makes and models; type of fuel (i.e. bio-diesel); the age, maintenance and general conditions
of an engine and associated parts of the drive train; individual driving styles; mechanical
factors (ECU, faulty spark plug, timing, lambda control, etc.); the responsiveness of emission
tracking sensors and fuel injection system sensors (between different vehicles) in reacting to
the state of combustion brought about by EFS when first added to your fuel.
Driver behavior affecting MPG: An engine with an increased BTU fuel can do more
work, as the engine makes the same power at lower RPM (spinning less and consuming less
fuel to make the same power). The result is increased mileage since it takes less RPM and fuel
to get the same power. With noticeable increase in power and smoother running engine, the
natural tendency is for some to enjoy the performance gain by driving faster (increasing fuel
consumption as well as polluting emissions) instead of conserving the added energy EFS
provides,. Foot to the floor driving is fun, but not economical.

As sensors become cleaner and more responsive most users find the engine
performance to be noticeably better. If your vehicle has a built-in fuel usage digital read out
… you may find it more accurate to manually compute your fuel usage until the system
sensors have adjusted to the clean burning fuel you are now using.

Please remember that, although EFS is very beneficial to the engine, it should not
preclude one from omitting regular service maintenance or necessary repairs to keep your
engine running as clean and efficiently as possible.

A very small percentage of vehicles and engines will achieve little or no mileage gains
with Eco-Fuel Saver, while in others fuel efficiency will increase well beyond 20%. In most
vehicles, gains will be seen on the first tank of fuel. In others, it may take several tanks before
the ECU adjusts air/fuel ratios and gains begin to be seen. Two stroke, gas/oil engines will
normally see the greatest increases with fuel efficiency gains of over 30% not uncommon.

However, in the majority of cases you can expect fuel efficiency to increase from 10% to 16%
in gasoline engines and from 15% to 30% in diesel engines.
