My Aim in life

Life is not a bed of roses. It is a bed of thorns. It is full of difficulties. An ambition

is a guiding star in our life. It inspires us to achieve noble ideals in life. It stimulates us
for better future. Without an ambition or aim life becomes dull and boring. Those who
have no definite aim in their lives cannot rise in life.
“Great ambition is the passion of great character.”( Proverb)
It is an uphill task for life.Every young person should have an ambition for his
career. It is a fact that progress, peace and prosperity are the result of human ambition. I
also cherish an ambition to be a teacher. A teacher makes the minds of the students. He
builds their characters. He makes them responsible citizens. He prepares them for
practical life.Teacher is source of spiritual attachment. Teacher plays a vital role in
developing the personality of a child. Teacher improves the hidden qualities of a child
and makes him a successful citizen. Allah almighty has endowed man with intelligence,
imagination and creative abilities. Teachers polish all their qualities. Teacher improves
them morally, mentally, socially and spiritually. In the words of William Arthur:
“A mediocre teacher tells, a good teacher explains, a superior teacher
demonstrates, a great teacher inspires.”
Teacher is a true source of inspiration for the students. A teacher has certain aspects; he
is a leader, moralist, guider, educator, facilitator at the same time. Teacher enables the
students to acquire knowledge, develop concepts and inculcate skills conducive to the all-
round development of their personalities.

All great men of the world are what their teachers have made them. My father wanted to
see me a doctor. He had been talking of it since my childhood. But I do not like medical
profession.I want to be a teacher so I shall struggle hard to get my aim.It is the prosession
of prophets. I think that our country needs more and more highly educated teachers.
Alexander the Great has rightly said about his legendary philosopher teacher Aristotle:
“I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well”
Teaching is a profession that is responsible for the progress and ultimate success
of a nation. An ideal teacher is one who looks his job not merely as a means to earn a
living but as an opportunity to control the objectives of education. He works to eradicate
illiteracy, ignorance, superstition and backwardness from the society.I shall try to be a
good teacher.
Brad Henry elucidates this aspect in the following words:
“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a hope of
learning”
In my opinion the best way to please Allah is to serve fellow human beings.I
shall serve my people,my nation,my country by becoming a builder of a nation. I shall
discourage the exploitation of the students. I shall improve the standard of the education.
I shall try to make learning procedure effective and easy. The teachers enable the students
to acquire knowledge, develop concepts and inculcate skills and values because these
things are very necessary for the development of their personality. Man cannot get real
happiness by becoming rich. Real happiness and contentment of heart comes through
selfless service to mankind. In the words of William Arthur:
“A mediocre teacher tells, a good teacher explains, a superior teacher
demonstrates, a great teacher inspires.”
I shall encourage my students to take a part in cultural activities also. Whenever
any cultural program will be arranged in school, my students will always be in the
forefront.It will be an effort to make them a good citizen. I shall tell my students to
engage themselves in some hobby or the other to avoid boredom. I shall recommend the
hobbies of gardening, painting, stamp collecting etc. I shall teach my students the virtues
of truthfulness, honesty and non-violence. I shall lay great stress on moral and spiritual
education. I shall want my students to study the life and follow the Sunnah of the Holy
Prophet (P.B.U.H). I shall exhort my students to be patriotic and loyal to their country
and safeguard its independence at all costs.Gilbert Highet pays tribute to the earnest
efforts of a teacher in the following words:
“A Good Teacher is a determined person."

I shall try to inspire my students. I shall teach the students with a missionary spirit.I shall
encourage the students who will ask questions. I shall answer their questions in a
powerful and polite manner and shall satisfy them to a great extent. I shall try to endow
them with a dynamic and impressive personality.
Great Greek scholar Aristotle describes the importance of teacher in these words:
“Those who educate children well are more to be honored than; these who
produce them, for these only gave them life, those art of living well”.
