The teacher will volunteers

7. Ask for clarifications or questions from the students by using thumbs down- thumbs up.
8. Ask students to take down notes.
Day 2
1. Call students to recall the previous lesson about properties of materials.
2. Using the list of situations in their book on page 14, the students will identify if it describes physical or
chemical properties.
3. Discuss the other properties of materials then ask the students to give examples.
4. After that, let the students read page 22 Extract part to learn more about properties of materials.
Day 3
1. The students will recall the meaning of 4R’s technique they have learned during grade 4.
2. Call students to give their explanations on the different techniques.
3. Ask students to give examples and how they can apply it.

2. The teacher will roam around to check the progress and safety of the students while doing the activity.
VIII. ASSESSMENT:
A. Independent Practice
Seatwork: Let the students answer pages 40 – 41 about properties of materials
Venn Diagram: the students will differentiate physical property from chemical property.
Performance Task: Recycling Project – the students will create a usable product out of recyclable or
materials.
B. Collaboration
Groupings: The student will group the pictures of materials according to their properties. Then the
student will have a gallery walk to present their output.
IX. SYNTHESIS:
1. Show plastic bag, paper bag and cloth bag (eco bag).
2. Then ask the students, if you will use one of these in carrying the things you brought, which do you
