The group chose this specific issue because this can greatly benefit each community
that would implement our future work plans. Despite the strong activism of Filipinos
regarding the environmental issues nationwide, data shows that local government units are
still struggling to implement the RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act
of 2000. Several years after the enactment of the said law, there have been numerous
complains that were filed under the office of the ombudsman for non-compliance of the
law. Non-compliance of this law has a great effect in our environment in general. This can
be seen on the different rivers, esteros, and canals of Metro Manila alone. We believe that
people still lack knowledge of the harmful effects of non-compliance of this law. God said
to his people that we should take care of his creations which us and the environment
surrounding us. By disregarding the nature and the safety of our fellowmen, we also
disregard and disobey the teachings of God and with our projects and work plans, people
will be able to realize the benefits of obeying this law and may it become a daily practice
in the near future and in return give back to God by nurturing his creations.
VISION: To provide environmental leadership that rightfully promote the public good
through innovative strategies, making sure in leading to a society that generates proper
segregation of garbage and zero waste.
MISSION: Our mission is to be proactive in terms of giving assistance in the field of waste
management. To implement effective and economically viable waste solution that will use
modern technologies that comply with local and international laws.
III. Objectives of the Project
1. To be able to properly disseminate the protocols and/or strategies involving waste
segregation to the public.
2. To enlighten the future generation about the consequences that can happen if there
is a non-compliance about the different laws involving waste management.
3. To lessen the overall garbage disposal problem that is rampant not only in the
National Capital Region but also in the Philippines.
1. List the sources and amount of the solid waste products generated by different
PH communities or of different barangays.
2. Research and evaluate the existing solid waste management solutions in the
Philippine communities.
3. Formulate improvements regarding the implemented solutions as well as their
implementations. Programs from other countries should also researched and the
feasibility of implementing those programs here in the Philippines should be
evaluated.
Furthermore, after the data are compiled, important facts must be disseminated to
the public to raise awareness and sense of urgency regarding the existing problems and the
direct effects of these different issues. The following initiatives below are proposed.
After the information has been disseminated, proper evaluation should be done in
order to know if the public awareness increases and if the information, they acquired,
helped the increase in the proper solid waste management especially on the macro scale
such as the home. Below are also some of the projects that the group propose.
