Intercultural Project

LEVEL 2:PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD

Description.

We all look different! Even if we are from the same country, there will be physical characteristics that make
everyone unique. This project aims at recognizing and understanding how each one lives in a different place to
live and enjoy it. Therefore, students will first explore a country of their interest and then answer questions
about means of transportation, weather and touristic places to visit it and their location in a map. Read the
instructions and be ready to have an interview for talking about it.

Dateline: Uploading Project: From July 10th – 15th

FOLLOW THESE RULES

During the third week of July, your tutor will set up a special schedule to do the interviews.
4
Make sure you attend the virtual sessions to present your Project. You have to be
prepared to answer your tutor´s or classmate’s questions regarding your visual
presentation. The interview will last for 4 minutes.
5 There is an example of an interview:
Tutor: What’s the best time to visit Japan, Juan?

Juan: The best time to visit Japan is spring or autumn

Tutor: Why do you think so?

Juan: Because in Spring and Autumn days are sunny

and dry. In summer it is usually too hot and in winter the
temperature can drop to 5°C, so it is too cold.
FOLLOW THESE RULES

Tutor: How can I commute in Japan? Are there any

trains?

Juan: Yes, there are. Japan has a big railway system.

Tokyo has a bullet train. It is very fast but crowded. It is
also very expensive but if you are a tourist, you can
have a whole day pass for a very good price.

Tutor: And if I want to travel to another city, can I take a

bus?

Juan: Sure! There are some highway buses. They are

cheaper than trains but slower. You can also buy a
Japan Bus pass that includes discounts.
FOLLOW THESE RULES

Tutor: Can you recommend any tourist attraction?

Juan: Of course! You can visit Himeji Castle.

Tutor: Where is it?

Juan: It is in Kyoto. It is 400 years old and it is one of the

most spectacular castles in Japan.
