Duties and Responsibilities of a Filipino Citizen
Love of country is an invitation to all citizens as we show some love and respect to our
country by means of doing duties and responsibilities. Therefore everyone is capable of it, by
showing it and doing it. Even in a small like serving and giving a hand to those in needs is a
considerable huge help to a fellow citizen. As for a student we can easily show some respect by
being abided by the rules and be open-minded in any situations such as being aware in our
environment. The deeds that we work on is a substantial contribution to our country and is worth
of sacrifice.
A good Filipino citizen is ought to be mindful of his duties and responsibilities to his own
country. One must realize their love for country in order to fulfill the necessity to become a good
citizen. Being a Filipino who have love for his own country, allows him to be dedicated in working
for his country, serving his fellow countrymen and helping his community in solving their
problems through various involvement or participation. An example of this is protecting the
country and our territory.
As students, we could simply show our love for our country by respecting our laws,
engaging in environmental projects and supporting our local brands. Students who are in their
legal age could also take part during elections as a voter, which is a huge role for the betterment
of the future government of our country. One trait a student must acquire to become a
responsible citizen is being responsive rather than reactive. Being mindful of our social problems
is a must in order for us to response and come up with actual solutions. Moreover, we should be
disciplined and we should not be tolerating corruption or stealing even in small communities.
Being a responsible and dutiful student is quite challenging, but as a Filipino Citizen who
wishes to show loyalty and patriotism to our country, we are called to serve for this nation and
we could show this by being mindful of our surroundings. A point that we would like to specifically
focus on is the responsibility of the people to elect the proper officials which deserves a particular
spot in the government. It is known for a fact that a lot of these government officials had the
impression of being scoundrels for quite a long period of time even dating back to the centuries,
which actually doesn’t translate to all them being that kind of person. Furthermore, the power is
within us to have our choice on which official should be sitting next on the higher chairs, that
however, is solely dependent on the people itself and we could all simply do it by using the ink
for righteousness and justice.
