Good morning, future doctors. I’m Czarina Fraxidio and I’m Kiara Larracas, and on behalf of LAMP, we
would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of you here in Basic Instructional Course on Clinical
Ophthalmology! We would like to start this seminar with a prayer to be led by Gica Bade. Please all rise.

Thank you, Gica. To kick off the program, please allow me to introduce to you Giernnie Salantes, LAMP’s
secretary, to give her welcoming remarks.

 Welcoming Remarks

Thank you, Giernnie. Our guest speaker for today is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration major in Marketing at Far Eastern University-Diliman last 2008. He then continued his post
graduate course here in our very own Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation Institute
of Medicine and graduated last 2014. He also took his medical internship in the said university. He passed
the Physician Licensure Examination last March 2016. He is currently having his residency training in
Ophthalmology in FEU-NRMF Medical Center. He wrote an interesting paper entitled, “ICE Syndrome: A
Case Report” & it won 3rd place in the Annual Resident’s Interesting Case Presentation Contest in 2017
here in FEU-NRMF. His paper entitled, “Glaucoma 2.0: Postgraduate Course in Secondary Glaucomas
gathered 2nd place in the Resident’s Interesting Care Presentation Contest held in Medical City. Without
much further ado, please join me us in welcoming Dr. Ferdinand N. Valbuena Jr.!

Thank you for that very informative talk, Doc! For an hour and 45 minutes, you will be given the chance
to practice what you have learned from Dr. Valbuena. Snacks will also be distributed because we know
