SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter deals with interpretation of the gathered and analyzed data collected

in the course of the investigation. This chapter of the summary, findings, conclusions,

and recommendations.

SUMMARY

The purpose of this study was to determine the attainability and viability of the

Proposed Establishment of a Coffee Shop and Study Center by CAFE ACADEME at

Northgate Center, Banilad, Cebu City.

The following questions were answered:

1. How feasible is the Proposed Laundry Services of ENRIQUEZ Laundry Express

in Caneja St. Naval, Biliran in terms of:

1. Management;

2. Marketing;

3. Technical;

4. Legal and Taxation;

5. Financial;

6. Socio-economic Desirability; and,

7. SWOT Analysis
 2. Based on the findings, what recommendations can be proposed to improve

the CAFE ACADEME in Banilad, Cebu City?

This study used descriptive survey method through the aid of research-made

questionnaires as the main instrument for data collection. With this method, the

researcher has no control on the variables of the study. The instrument of this study which

is the research-made questionnaire was answered by the identified target market who

are living in the apartments.

In order to come up with a comprehensive result, interview was also conducted to

generate possible response and verify the data gathered during the survey.

FINDINGS

The following were derived from the analysis of the data gathered.

A. Management Aspect

It has been estimated that it would take six (6) weeks for the pre operating activities

to be complied for the proposed project including the General Project Planning, Securing

Funds, Acquisition of Materials and Equipments, Securing Permits and Licenses and

Start of Normal Operation. The proposed CAFE ACADEME has 18 employees.

Bookkeeper is hired with retainer’s fee.

B. Marketing Aspect

The primary target market of the proposed CAFE ACADEME are the Architecture,

Fine Arts, Engineering, and Political Science Students of University of San Carlos -
Talamban Campus, and the Law and Graduate School Students of University of Cebu -

Banilad Campus. According to the survey, 69.17% of the 120 respondents are willing to

be customers of CAFE ACADEME should its operations push through. The survey also

indicates that the cafe will have 39 daily customers, 37 weekly, 27 bi-weekly, and 17 who

will visit more than once a month.

C. Technical Aspect

CAFE ACADEME will be located in one of the most bustling areas in the city. It will

have daily business hours 10am to 3am. Since it caters to undergraduate, law and grad

students, it is estimated that there will be customers everyday.

D. Legal and Taxation Aspects

For the business legally operated, all legal documents are needed to be secured,

such as Business Permit and Barangay Permit. In Business Permit, the establishment

shall secure first DTI Registration, Mayor’s Permit and BIR Permit. The proposed

business shall be compliant to income tax and percentage tax.

E. Financial Aspect

The business required an amount of Four Hundred Two Thousand (402,000.00)

pesos as initial investment. The investment was generated from the personal savings of

the owner. The ENRIQUEZ Laundry Express will be recovered after one year and nine

months accordingly.
F. Socio-Economic Desirability

The research shows that it is socially and economically desirable. It stands to

benefit from the owner, consumers, employees and the local government unit. The owner-

proponent will benefit in terms of profits, consumers will benefit in the form of goods and

services introduced by CAFE ACADEME, it will generate employment for job-seekers,

and will contribute to tax revenues for both local and national agencies.

G. SWOT Analysis

Based on the study, there were more strengths and opportunities in contrast with

weakness and threats which will be helpful and remedy as what was presented on the

critical risk that includes the internal and external risks.

CONCLUSION

Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that the Proposed Establishment

of a Coffeeshop and Study Center by CAFE ACADEME in Northgate Center, Banilad,

Cebu City is viable and feasible. It will take one year and nine months for the payback

period.

RECOMMENDATION

In line with the suggestion by the respondents, it is recommended that CAFE

ACADEME shall loyalty programs to patrons and regular customers.
