Investigation Journal template: copy and paste as many boxes as you need.

Complete each section – always write the date of research every time you take notes on what you are learning. Take NOTES in your own words, use bullet points for each fact of information.
Do not use full sentences. Avoid copying and pasting information – re-word.
Remember to reflect on the reliability of your source, their perspective. By verifying your information you become a better academic because you know what you are talking about.
Also, reflect on the direction your research – topic- is taking after each source or guiding question has been ‘completed’. Consider the following: Describe any new or surprising facts which are
relevant to your research. Connect your new learning to other parts of your research. Are there any ‘dangling’, unanswered or new curious facts which would enhance your project if you
pursued those? Any new questions to investigate now that you know a little bit more about your topic? Add these as guiding questions to research.
Start your research by writing out all the questions you can think of before investigating – Research PLAN. Use those questions to lead your research – guiding questions. As
more questions come up through your reflections, use them to further your research.
Use MLA formatting for all your sources. You MUST do this. Then when you compile your bibliography (a separate document) your work has already been done. All you will need to do is
put the MLA sources into alphabetically order. Find and save the (parenthetical citation) from the MLA source so that you can immediately cite your source correctly in your final product.
Add a quote from this source and other sources if you think a particular extract or quote could be relevant to your topic and final paper.
Copy the boxes as many times as you need, remember to keep notes together with source. Avoid having 2 or more sources with one set of notes..
