Upon my arrival, ! made contact with the witness/homeowner, Ms. Margaret Schaedel. Ms. Schaedel stated that she |owns this residence, and is married to Mr. Edward Schaedel. Ms. Margaret stated Mr. Edward's mother. Ms. Carolyn ‘Schaedel lives with them atthe listed address, Ms. Margaret stated she has a blood granddaughter named Ms. Katie |Gates who also resides with them at the listed address as if single family unit. Another subject named Mr. Jose Luis Valdes Montejo resides in the back yard of the residence in a shed. (On this date, Ms. Margaret stated that Ms. Gates became angry because she wanted to eat more than her fair share of |tomatoes at the dinner table. Ms. Margaret stated Katie then began to throWa ft becaur |fomatoes, and became disrespectful towards the other adults in the house. This enraged the elderly adults in the house. Ms. Margaret stated Ms. Gates then threw a water bottle towards where Mr. Schaedel was sitting, almost striking him with the water bottle. Ms, Gat&s Trem tir roy jeTi@ Anger, striking her in the top portion of her eye. It should be noted that Ms. Carolyn Schaeder is 73 years old, ‘This was witnessed by Ms. Schaedel, and Mr Montejo. | then read Ms. Gates her Miranda Rights, and she stated she understood her rights and wished to speak with me. Post Miranda, Ms. Gates admitted to throwing the cigarette pack at Ms. Schader in anger, and striking her in the face with it Based on the aforementioned, | then arrested Ms. Gates for Battery on a person over age 65. Mr. Schaedel then confronted Ms. Gates about het behavior in his house, which further enraged Ms. Gates, According to leveryone in the residence, Ms. Gates then grabbed a knife and started waving it towards Mr. Schaedel and began to |chase Mr. Schaedel with the knife. Mr. Schaedel ran out the door of the residence and Ms. Gates chased him outside withthe knife in her hand and stated to Mr. Schaedel “motherfucker, Ill stab you in your fucking face" as she began to [Poke the knife towards his face, nearly striking him in the face with the knife, [According to both Mr. Schaedel and Mr. Montejo, Ms. Gates then continued to underhand poke and overhand strike at him withthe knife in her hand while yelling obscenities. Ms. Margaret Schaedel then yelled loudly that she was “calling the Police" and Ms. Gates then ran back into the kitchen and threw the knife on the counter, where | later recovered it I then [Spoke with Ms. Gates about the incident.
