PTA Committee
Last week, the PTA met at their AGM.
Thanks were given to the outgoing
committee for all their hard work.
Rebecca Stevens has agreed to stay
on as Chair for another year and
Alison Hamilton has been voted in as
Vice Chair.
Last year’s accounts were
presented: even though slightly less
was raised, slightly under £8,000 was
profit last year. During last year over
£11,000 was given back to the school
to buy laptops, a water wall, for
school trips and books.
There are plans to use some of the
profit that is in the PTA bank account
this year for more tablets to replace
the aging iPads, more books and to
support more visits going out of
school.
Thank you to all the parents for their
financial support and support at the
events.
PTA Calander
Please see the attached PTA calendar
for this term with more details about
upcoming events. As the event gets
closer, the PTA will give out more
information and/or the way to get
tickets. All profits are used by the PTA
in school.
Internet Safety
As I mentioned at the ‘Meet the
Teacher’ evening on 12th September, I
am always keen to provide parents
with an opportunity to consider how
to keep children safe on line at home.
It is hard to get parents to attend
sessions in school, so we have decided
to give information out each week
with the newsletter email. Each week
you will find a leaflet attached which I
recommend that you read. Some of
the leaflets will be more or less
relevant due to the age of your
children – but they are still worth a
skim so that you know what is
available as support. Leaflet attached
each week. This week: TV use.

KS2 Dance Club – after school on
Friday
There are a few places available in the
Dance Club due to a number of
children dropping out last Friday –
please contact the school office to
secure a place. This club has been
paid for with part of our Sports
Premium as a means of giving every
child in school the opportunity for a
dance session (this is in conjunction
with the dance lessons taking place
every Friday afternoon during school
time).
Summer Reading Challenge
I was delighted that over 40 children
stood up at the front during our
Friday celebration assembly last week.
Each child had completed the reading
challenge over the summer. There
were a number of other children who
had started, but not finished, the
challenge (due to a number of
reasons). Well done to all the children
– and to their parents – for keeping up
with the challenge!

I always think that September is a
lovely month, weather-wise, however,
as we start to see some more
Autumnal conditions, please
remember to send your children
dressed accordingly. As you know, we
try to get them outside, even in
wetter conditions. Please send
(named) hats, gloves and even a
second change of footwear if you
know that your child is a magnet for
puddles!
