Studienkolleg
The Studienkolleg aims at preparing those applicants, who have foreign secondary educational certificates but no
direct higher education entrance qualification in Germany, for admission to a study programme at any institution of
higher education. As a rule the preparatory training at the Studienkolleg lasts two semesters. At the end of the
second semester the students take the assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung).

To study at BTU, you must take either a T-Course (for technical, mathematical, and natural sciences) or a W-
Course (for economics, social and legal studies). Irrespective of the specification of those courses the German
language is the major subject in all of them.
The University of Potsdam is responsible for the Studienkolleg of BTU Cottbus. Applicants for the Studienkolleg at
the University of Potsdam must demonstrate a completed German language exam of “Mittelstufe 1” as well as
corresponding certificates of education. BTU Cottbus sends students to the Studienkolleg only in the Winter
Semester. The application deadline is 15 April.

More information can be found on the homepage of the Studienkolleg at: http://www.uni-
