BEHAVIORISM IN THE MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM

It is the things we work hardest for that will reward us the most. As a future educator
and which will be the fruit of my labor, it would both a stimulus-response and an operant-
conditioning for me to become the profession I want for myself. Knowing the reward that
is achieving my dream is a motivation for me to work hard for my studies. If I were to
become an educator teaching mathematics, I will motivate my students the way I how I
motivated my self today.

If I will continue to strive hard, particularly in my studies then I maybe, just maybe
I will be rewarded justly not by tangible things but with greater opportunities in the real
life.

Learning Mathematics is complicated and what makes it harder is teaching and

applying your learnings to your students. One of the struggles of teaching Mathematics
is the eagerness of the students and their difficulty of remembering what was being
thought. One way of firing up their eagerness to learn is giving them a motivation that
would basically equate to the level of difficulty that was being given. And of course it never
gets old, even my classmates today gets motivated in listening with the discussion just by
giving them cheap candies or stars or ribbons useless stuffs.

In summary, it is indeed very nice given the opportunity to discuss this topic since
students nowadays perceives things difficult and hard to understand and that I mean
Mathematics.
HUMANISM IN MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM

Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of
bringing the first two loves together. To become an effective teacher, he must have the
passion, perseverance and patience in teaching his students to become life-long learners.
Of which brings us to the factors that affects the learning of the students.

Humanists strongly agree that pupils need to have physiological needs, safety
needs, belonging needs, and esteem need met so that more optimal achievement in
learning. With that in order for the students to digest what is being thought to them the
learners first need to meet the basic needs of humans. Same as to us teachers, although
it is a need to become a resourceful teacher but sometimes we get discouraged because
of the things that are missing in our basic needs or in any types of needs.

So as is stated, we must be a resourceful individuals to surpass difficulties and

become effective individuals upon teaching in the near future.

Money can change something but not everything (Grace Cadiz 2019). My object
of description does not refer to the point that the human kind will not develop without
money, to defend my point, money provides immediate help especially in health related
problems.

As a sum, we cannot give what we do not have so therefore we must request help
from our community for aid to our needs. Since our children are our future then we must
harness them while they are still young so that they may become effective and efficient
citizens of tomorrow.
BEHAVIORISM AND COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY IN MATHEMATICS

Education is a seamless web: one level of learning relates to every other. The
teacher needs to have an excellent knowledge of the subject matter to use Gagne’s
hierarchy of objectives approach in teaching and learning. So before imparting
knowledge, we ourselves must thoroughly understand what is going to be imparted to our
dear students.

To make our lesson substantial and understandable, we must arrange topics

depending on how easy or complex it is. We must impart the lessons bit by bit for the
learners to easily absorb the topic. Since the topics in mathematics are sequential, all of
the learners must understand each part to understand the preceding topic to be
presented. Although the topics are being presented by bits, teachers must be aware of
the some factors that inside the school, such as the span of time given for each topic etc.

Behaviorism also known as behavioral psychology, is a theory of learning based

on the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Cognitive theory is an
approach to psychology that attempts to explain human behavior by understanding your
thought processes. Both theory emphasizes the purpose of having students perform
satisfactorily.

In conclusion, learning takes steps and therefore Gagne’s Eight Levels of Learning
will be a guide for me in becoming an effective and efficient educator.
GUIDELINES FOR TEACHING MATHEMATICS

He who cannot be a good listener cannot be a good teacher. Talking about

effectiveness, every problem or obstacle or struggle there is, will always have a solution.
Mathematics teachers are taught to perceive in life wherein every problem has a solution.
Since the life of a teacher mostly roams inside the school premises, the problem of the
school is also the problem of the teacher. We all know that the people inside the school
are the students. So as it is understood the problem of the student is also the problem of
the teacher, to whom we have known as their second parents.

There are four major problems in teaching Mathematics. First is securing the
attention of the students. This is a major problem among different teachers around the
globe since students perceive Mathematics as a subject that is difficult, complex and
requires critical thinking skills. Second is having the learners to understand what is being
thought, since students have instilled into their minds the difficulty of the subject then as
a result the students get unmotivated in learning the subject. Third is that the perspectives
of the students as what is mentions a while ago. And lastly, the learning opportunities in
teaching of Mathematics of which it should be sequence and followed. These affects the
students in learning the subject.

In conclusion, the solution to become an effective teacher is to provide importance

of mathematics for learners to change their perspectives about the subject.
CONSTRUCTIVISM IN MATHEMATICS

Correction does much but encouragement does more. As an educator of

tomorrow, we must learn to appreciate students to be eager to learn and that is not just
through correction but also through encouragement. For a student will be more motivated
if he is given appreciation and encouragement and feels for himself that he is developing
and has evolved in a better version of himself.

But we must be careful of our actions and assess of whether a student needs
correction or appreciation because one might misunderstood the one’s thought and
eventually gets discouraged of learning.

Here in constructivism students are being assessed to properly know what is going
to be taught and applied to the student. Since it is a student centered theory, teachers
are ought to adjust and lend a hand to the students for after all everything the teacher is
doing is for the benefit of the students.

In conclusion, we must be careful with our students so that they may grow and be
useful in the future.
PHILOSOPHICAL CONSIDERATION IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS

Change is the end result of all true learning. We all know that thIs philosophy is a
subject centered kind of vibe. Although it is being criticized for its idea it is still respect
and being used since For the longest time books are the main source of knowledge and
is being applied to learners.

It is essential that
