their experiences of living and serving with the Catholic Church in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Rostro de Cristo is a
Catholic mission program helping to extend Church’s ministry and mission to some of our most
marginalized communities. Founded in 1989 by Fr. James Ronan, a priest from the Archdiocese of Boston,
Rostro de Cristo supports and trains young adults from the United States who dedicate a year to living a life
of service, faith and community as volunteer missionaries. A second collection will be taken in support of
this missionary activity. Please visit www.rostrodecristo.org for more information.

Franciscan Dinner and Pope Francis Award 2019
Plans are well underway for our Franciscan Dinner and Pope Francis Award. Please plan to join us at our new venue,
The Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 for an evening to celebrate and support the
extraordinary work of the Franciscan Friars on Arch Street. This year the focus is on the women we serve –the poor,
the alienated and those who seek compassion and acceptance.

We are proud to boast of this year’s Pope Francis Award recipient, Regina M. Pisa, Chairman Emeritus Goodwin, and
one of the most accomplished professional woman in Boston. Regina is a leader and innovator. She has been a
transformational business leader at Goodwin, while also being a passionate advocate for women and children. Regina
lives her Catholic values as a philanthropist who is committed to social justice and taking action with courage, vision,
compassion and humility.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Ms. Lorrie Higgins will serve as Honorary Chairs. Jo-Anne and Jim Gallagher are
graciously serving as co-chairs. They have put together a Dinner Committee of all-star business, financial and
community leaders. A heartfelt thank you to each of you.

Our fundraising goal this year is an ambitious $1.2 million. To date we have raised $950,350. If you would like
information about becoming a sponsor, please see Father Thomas E. Conway, OFM, or Maryanne Rooney-Hegan,
director of development 617-778-1645. Thank you.

D We are profoundly grateful to those have already stepped forward.
