EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN

I. Earthquake

A. Before
1. Be familiar with the evacuation area and plan.
2. Prepare your survival kit that has the following: whistle, lighter, flashlight,
potable water, ready-to-eat food, and cellphone.
3. Know the emergency hotline.
4. Identify strong areas or objects in the event’s location such as sturdy tables so
you can use them to take refuge.
B. During
1. Stay calm, alert, and focused.
2. Go to an open area or field.
3. Protect yourself by doing the Drop, Cover, and Hold (Drop to the floor, cover
your head, and hold to a strong object nearest you.)
C. After
1. Look for any means of communication and source of public announcement for
instructions.
2. Stay calm, alert, and observe your surroundings.
3. Check your injuries and go to the nearest medical assistance booth or aid
station.
II. Typhoon

A. Before
1. Tune-in to local news for government announcements and warnings.
2. Keep an emergency kit/go bag that includes a first-aid kit, food, water, clothing,
a whistle, a lighter, and a flashlight.
3. Charge your phones and keep these loaded for communication.
B. During
1. Stay let and prepared.
2. Wear warm clothes.
3. If you are already in danger, call for help.
C. After
1. Stay tuned-in to the radio and TV for latest update.
2. If there is an injury, seek for medical help.

III. Fire

A. Before
1. Ensure a fire extinguisher.
2. Look for exits and memorize floor plans.
B. During
1. Don’t panic, run, and use elevators.
2. Call the fire department.
3. Cover your nose and drop. Crawl to the nearest fire exit accessible from your
location.
C. After
1. Call the fire department if they are not yet alerted.
2. Once you are already outside, go to a safe place, check yourself for injuries, and
stay alert.

IV. Bomb Threats/Bombings.

A. Before
1. Be alert don’t be paranoid.
2. Always secure a contact number of police hotlines.
B. During
1. Call the police department for them to know that there is an ongoing incident
of chaos so they can respond to it immediately.
2. When there is a group of people acting violently, stay away from them and go
to a safe place.
C. After
1. Once that you are out of the situation, seek help from the nearest police station
and report the incident.
