 Risk assessment ;
-Determining the types complexity of the procedure .
-Determine what are the key parts and key site .
- Determine whether the key parts and key site needed to
be touched ,
-Determine the appropriate infection prevention
measures to protect key parts and key site.
 Infection prevention measures ;
a) ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL –
- Bed making in close proximity.
- Clean the environment in close proximity .

- Use of commands by other patient in a shared room .
- Moment and proximity of privacy certain .

running water [ duration -60 second ] alcohol based hand rub [
duration 20- 30].
SURGICAL –Surgical hand antisepsis using on approved
antimicrobial skin cleanser or waterless hand rub formation is
required when full barrier precaution are necessary.

c) APPROPRIATE USE OF PPE-

Non sterile gloves may be necessary to protect the clinician from

blood and body fluid or exposure to toxic drugs during
administration.
-Sterile gloves

NON TOUCH TECHNIQUE:- It is a technique where the

clinician hands do not touch, thereby contaminate key parts and
key sites. These is critical for maintaining asepsis.
