School Clinic’s Unknown Services

Maybe you think I’m just this. A place where students with good acting skills go. A place where
students will hide if they fought or broke up with their boyfriend or girlfriend. A place where you can
sleep when you’re drowsy and your escape place when you don’t feel like going to class. Well, you’re
wrong. I’m more and much better than that and I will prove you that.

Together with Donnabelle De Guzman, the school nurse and Dr. Joel Pudin, the school
dentist, our mission is to provide effective health and nutrition services and to utilize these services as
futile avenues for the inculcation of positive health values and behavior pursued with the spirit of
dedication towards the development of a healthier and more productive school populace in a clean,
healthy and drug-free school and community environment.

I give health and nutrition concepts whenever opportunity occurs such as chair-side teaching,
individual or group discussion and lecture discussion.

If you will allow me, I can determine your total health and nutrition status through history
taking, screening test and physical examination. Students like you can undergo health examination and
inspection for the complete and extensive assessment of health. I also give First aid emergency care.

I am where sick students go. When they have fever, I give them paracetamol. When their
stomach aches, I give them loperamide. When they’re having asthma attacks, my oxygen is ready for
them to use.

Every August, I conduct the School-Based Immunization Program in partnership with the DOH to
prevent and control communicable diseases such as measles and rubella.

I can conduct School-Based Feeding Program for identified severely wasted or wasted students
and Annual Physical and Dental Examination for all school personnel.

School-Based Deworming is conducted every January and July to all students with parental
consent to reduce malnutrition and impaired cognitive growth.

I offer Dental Services. For Dental Services, students should secure their dental permit before
the following: Oral Examination, Oral Prophylaxis, Restoration of Carious Teeth, Extraction, Referrals and
Follow-Up cases and Emergency Dental Treatment.

I can also give you Medical Services like: Addressing subjective symptoms as presented, Give
medical advise when needed, Blood pressure monitoring, Height and weight registration, Distribution of
medicines and Selective monitoring of special patients.

I also coordinated with the School Canteen for proper healthy food served and maintenance
department for healthy and safe school environment. Moreover, I partnered with advisers for healthy
and liveable classrooms.
 I help provide a healthy and safe environment. I am committed to serve the immediate relief of
various medical conditions within our limited capacity. The services I offer are not contrary to basic
medical diagnostic protocol.

I am used to being used and I am always happy and willing to be used for the betterment of
health of students I have my purpose and I’m glad I’m serving you well.
