WHO WE ARE
At York Blockchain
Society, we pride
ourselves on having a
diverse range of students
from various departments
across the University of
York. Our committee is
comprised of STEM,
computer science,
economics and law
students, ensuring all
aspects of new
technology are covered.

OUR MISSION
With our initial founding in the 2018-2019 academic
year, we aim to increase our presence across the
University of York. Our 'triangle' approach, which
focuses on drawing in computer science,
economics and law students, will be strengthened by
targeting STEM students.

As such, we aim to not only deliver conferences,

workshops and seminars on blockchain, but to expand
our parameters and go into other technological fields
which link to Blockchain. This includes, but is not
limited to, technology such as AI, the Internet of Things
and other forms of Distributed Ledger Systems

A CONDUIT FOR
RECRUITMENT
Alongside our educational
focus, we aim to help tech-
minded and commercially
aware students network
with organisaitons who are
technologically innovated.
Through mutual
collaboration between York
Blockchain and Innovation
Society and organisations
in the financial, insurance,
legal, engineering and
technology sectors, we
hope to put York on the
map as a place for
innovation and
engagement.

CROSS-POLLINATION
We aim to ensure that students start to engage with new
concepts outside of their academic curriculum and realise
the interesting ways in which different sectors interact
through the lens of new technology.
