and analysis of a culture or. Society based on participant observation and resulting In a written
account of a people ,place or institution. Based on the summary of findings of the research ,
some of the students doesn’t want k pop but they used k pop for motivation and relaxation.
The researchers concluded that k pop have positive and negative effects on the students in
terms of their studies. Because instead on focusing on their studies they give more time in
watching and making steps like k pop groups. But the good thing is they used k pop for
motivation and relaxation.
On the other side , the researchers recommend that the students should know how to
manage their time , In order for them not to have a falling grades on their academic side from
that students must not judge k pop because k pop do not tell us to focus on them . Because they
are just being a motivation.

amount of quantity while the amount deducted a sale is so small. This lead to inaccurate costing
of the product

problem in this kind of issue. Third we make the background of our study were there is a
questions in our mind that we want to answer. Fourth we make our questionnaire in order for us
to know what is the effects of k-pop groups to the academic performance of the students.
Through survey method or the fifth step we ask a series of question to a selected grade 12 were
we gathered their answer through questionnaire and audio visual recording. The six step is
interpreting and analyzing of data were we got the percentage in every aspect of the respondents,
like the demographic profile, age and also their gender. And the seventh and last step is
conclusion and recommendation were the researchers conclude and recommend the outcome of

Synthesis
This prove that there's a lot of factors why Filipino teens and students choose to be a k
pop fanatics. And it relates to the quotes that "there is no permanent in the world except change".
On the other hand this are the following why student and Filipino teens prepared k pop culture

instead of American culture and that is because of its big differences not only in culture but also
through media influences. And this differences include the following: costumes and color, story
telling ,personality ,fashion ,addicting melodies ,choreography ,training , diverse talents
multilingual ,and high concept group. These are the ingredients that leads to the success of
Korean wave.
Moreover there is a positive and negative effect Filipino teens follow their idols style
,way of eating and dressing ,thus they are willing to buy made in Korea products such as
cosmetics and Korean services ,clothes as well as their movies ,cuisine ,fashion ,music, games
and literature. While on the bad effects is they tend to forget the traditional values they forgot to
make their assignments , they sleep late at night, experience severe help problems, they maybe
experience eye diseases, memory loss sooner or later.
Second is a fall in academic achievement of some teenaged students that leads them to
not pay attention in class and keep listening music during discussion. They also stay at home
stalking their favorite idols via internet, wasting time reading such non sensical stuffs about them
as scandals instead of reading books or participating in learning groups. In other words, they are
distracting their studying.
Last but not the least, k pop may leaf to lack of social contact and affect relationships
between children and parents. They prefer sitting "within four corners" and enjoying their
favorite k pop music, videos, and etc without being annoyed by others. Specifically their parents.

Chapter 3
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
In this chapter it describes the research design as well as the methods that were used to
sample the population and the target population bringing out the sample site. The chapter further
looked at the methods of data collection, research instruments, their validity and reliability,
operational definition of variables and methods of data analysis.
Research Design
The study engages in qualitative research. Qualitative research is a form of research that
uses a story or narratives of its respondents as data. It is a research focused on a non numerical
data and it explore and observe in its surroundings. Also qualitative research is subjective,
flexible, dynamic, purposeful, thematic and contextual or trial.
This study employed a ethnography study. The term ethnography refers to the recording
and analysis of a culture or society usually based on participant observation and resulting in
written account of a people, place or institution.
According to BMJ, ethnography is a qualitative study of social interaction, behaviors,
and perception that occur within groups, teams, organizations, and communities. This is also a
field of study technique, which involves talking with other people and observing them perform
their tasks in their own natural context.
Research Method
Used The researchers used unstructured interview for collecting informations.
Unstructured interview means that, respondents answer the questions based on what they
personally think and feel about it. It means that unstructured interview uses open ended
questions. Because the respondents answer the questions without any choice, but based on their
opinions. An unstructured interview, is an interview without any set format but in which the
interviewer may have some key question formulated in advance. Unstructured interview allows
questions based on the interviewees responses and proceeds like a friendly, non threatening
conversation. However, because each interviewee is a asked a different series of question, this
style lack the reliability and precision of a unstructured interview. Also called non directive
interview.

Center for Development, Training and Competency Assessment, Inc.
Sampling Technique
Used Sampling is a method that allows researchers to infer information about population
based on results from a subset of the population without having to investigate every individual.
Sampling also refer to the process of selecting respondents or people to answer questions meant
to yield data for a research study. In this case, the researchers used a non probability sampling
which is purpose sampling. The subject are chosen based on their availability or the purpose of
study, and in some cases on the sole discition of the researchers.
Instrumentation
The researchers write a letter of approval with signed by the assistant to the principal in
order to conduct an interview. The researchers used unstructured interview in which the
respondents answers the questions based on their observation or opinions. Researchers also
include group interview were in they ask a group of people which is the Grade 12 students to
answer the questionnaire. This is important for analysis and interpretation of data . A side from
St. Francis Technical Institute
Center for Development, Training and Competency Assessment, Inc.
that the researchers used an Audio Visual Recording. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary
it is designed to aid in learning or teaching by making use of both hearing and sight. It means
that audio visual is in direct form of interview.
Data Gathering
The researchers get the questionnaire after that the respondents answer the question.
After that the researchers have an unexpected interview which is related to the study that will
elaborate their answer that will be gathered through the use of Android/mobile phone through
this the respondents will ensure that their answers will keep safe and to avoid leakage of
informations.

CONCLUSION
1. The researchers concluded that some of the students in St. Francis Technical Institute
doesn’t like k pop. Because k pop groups had shown to have a positive and negative
effects in terms of studies of the students.
2. K pop groups is not a help in terms of the studies of students, but it is more effective in
motivating and relaxing the students.
3. Giving a lot of time in watching and making steps like k pop groups will lead them to
become not focused on their studies and making them stay late up night.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on the results of the study the researchers suggest the following recommendation:
1.The researchers recommend that having k pop will have a positive and negative effect in the
students. As the results of the researcher’s survey, students are listening and watching k drama;
just to relax and motivate them in their studies.
2.On the other side; the researchers recommend that the students should know how to manage
their time. In order for them not to have a failing grades in their academic performance. A side
from that, students must not judge k pop because k pop do not tell us to focus on them. But they
are just a motivation for the students.
3.The researchers recommend to the future researchers to have improvements of this study about
the effects of k pop groups to the academic performance to the students. And it will serve as a
guide or additional resources on pursuing another study.
