National Seminar on Implementation of Competition Law in India:

Issues, Challenges & Strategies


A One day National Seminar on “ Implementation of Competition Law in India: Issues,
Challenges & Strategies” is being organized on 16th November, 2019 (Saturday) by The
Faculty of Law, Baba Mast Nath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak, Haryana in collaboration
with Competition Commission of India, New Delhi. The Competition Act, 2002 was enacted by
the Parliament of India and governs Indian competition law. It replaced The Monopolies and
Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969. Under this legislation, the Competition Commission of
India was established to prevent the activities that have an adverse effect on competition in
India. It is a law that promotes or seeks to maintain market competition by regulating anti-
competitive conduct by companies. The task of implementation of this Act is assigned to
Competition Commission of India. There are many issues and concerns that needs attention and
needs to be discussed with proper suggestions of academicians on broad platforms. The Seminar
will focus on the following Sub-themes:

 Legislation and its critical analysis on competition law.
 Competition Law and Policy- National and International Perspectives
 Competition Law and Economics and Commerce
 Competition Law and Development
 Competition Law and International Trade
 Competition Law and Intellectual Property Rights
 Competition Policies and its applicability in various sectors-Agriculture, Service,
Education, Business and Industrial Sectors
 Mergers/ Acquisitions and Competition Law

CALL FOR PAPERS


Research papers are invited from the Academicians, Practitioners, Research Scholars and
Students on the topics related to the above theme. It is proposed that the selected papers will be
published in the special volume in the form of an edited book with ISBN Number.
Authors of selected papers would be given an opportunity to present their papers as per
requirement of the theme during sessions on the day of seminar.
GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT AND MANUSCRIPT:
Word limit of the Abstract: 300-400 words
Abstract should be accompanied with a brief profile of author indicating his/her email
ID, contact no. and parent organization.
Word limit of the Abstract: 3000 words
The Full Research Paper should be maximum of; by keeping in view plagiarism must be typed in
MS-Word in Times New Roman Size 12 on A4 size paper with 1” margin on all sides with 1.5
line spacing.
The Blue Book: A Uniform number of citations (20th ed.) must be strictly adhered to while
submitting the abstract and full paper.
