#Literature Leads To a Better Future

Literature plays a significant role in our lives and in our society itself, a literate people
will be the instrument for our world to have its betterment. Literature expands our horizons,
literature allows us and let us see more than what we expect, from that, we learned and acquire
new knowledge that helps us build our instincts and intuitions which we need to enhance for us
to widen our minds in this society where literature is sometimes being underestimated.

Literature leads to change for it allows us to enhance our critical thinking skills that
makes us empathetic human beings, aside from having the skills to read and write, literature
develops our minds to think critically and correctly, it allows us to learn between the lines and to
learn more than we wanted to.

As for our society, being a critical thinker is also considered a way to have a better future
in our generation, for this generation already forgot the value of the significant things, they don’t
value the time they have to spent with their loved-ones because in this society we are revolving
in, is now being colonized with technology, and as day passed by, there are always
advancements.

The societal issue that is very timely is the addiction in technology, although technology
helps us in our everyday lives, but sometimes we forgot the Do’s and Do not’s, our
responsibilities and our limitations. Literature leads to a better future because literature gives us a
leap in the past, where we gained knowledge and awareness on our history and get new lessons
that we can use and apply in our everyday living especially in our future. It gives us knowledge
how to handle things in a much better way and perceive things in the best way we can whenever
there will come a larger problems and even in the smallest inconvenient things which is not good
at all.

Another thing is that literature makes us appreciate one’s diversity, once we promote
appreciation, we develop respect and gratitude in different culture we have in our country. And
the most valuable thing that the literature lead to change is the so called Humanity, according to
some research, all literary pieces whether it be poems, essays, novels and short stories helps us
address human nature and conditions which affect all people and our society itself.

From this matter, we learn that life must be lived accordingly in God’s favor and in law’s
favor. We need literature in order to connect with our humanity.

“In this age of technological revolution, how will literature be able to help me respond to societal
issues?”

In this generation, literature plays a vital role in this society. As a student an a citizen,
literature helps me respond to societal issues, because literature permits everyone to better
understand and extrapolate social situations, history, one’s own emotions, and various cultural
practices that makes us develop our empathy in diversity.

Literature mirrors ourselves and the society itself, it provides us knowledge over
something which is considered as the most valuable lesson. As we learned about how literature
helps us surpass society issues, the knowledge we acquire is very important, it is significant in a
manner that we put an application on the lore that stays not just in or minds but also in our heart.

As a student who continuously learning about literature, it assists me in becoming a

better person everyday, for being a literate person who knows not only how to read and write,
analyze critical matters, understand how things existed and why they exist and are existing, think
critically, is knowledgeable, is educated, who knows how to reason out and make an argument is
to serve as a way to have the capacity and ability to solve societal issues that is happening now
and might happen in the future.

Literature promotes social change, it bring great impacts on the development and/or
betterment of the society. Literature connects individuals with ideas and facts about society.
Literature allows me to convey my feelings and emotions that I find very useful, because through
epressing such, I feel peace and I feel that new wisdom enters my heart and soul

Literary works could depict changing ideals, also the changing thoughts that leads to
social change. As a student, it is a privilege to become a role model to my youth by simply
promoting awareness in every matter that damages and destroys our society, by sharing good
thoughts and spreading good insights that I have erudite from the school, inside the house, in the
church and in the community . being literate guides me to have a greater future.
