Answer the Following:

Q1. Find the equivalent mass and equivalent stiffness of the rocker arm assembly shown in
figure 𝑸𝟏 with respect to 𝒙 – coordinate. Also determine the equivalent torsional stiffness
and equivalent moment of inertia with respect to 𝜽 coordinate. Using these two sets of
equivalent stiffness and inertia, find the natural frequency in each case. 14 M

and 𝟑 𝒎 respectively and is of gross mass 𝟐𝟕𝟎 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒔. Determine the natural frequency of
transverse vibrations of the tank and response of the water tank assuming that column has
only stiffness and no mass. Take the initial displacement as 𝟐𝟓 𝒄𝒎 and initial velocity as zero.
What are the maximum values of displacement and velocity? 10 M

𝟗𝟖(𝟐 − 𝒕) 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝟏 ≤ 𝒕 ≤ 𝟐
𝒂𝟎 , 𝒂𝟏 , 𝒂𝟐 , 𝒂𝟑 , 𝒃𝟏 , 𝒃𝟐 & 𝒃𝟑 using usual notation. Hence approximate the forcing function as a
harmonic function using these seven harmonics. Hence define the response of the system if
stiffness of the spring is 𝟐 𝑲𝑵/𝒎, damping constant is 𝟖 𝑵 − 𝒔/𝒎 and mass is 𝟎. 𝟐 𝑲𝒈. 14 M
