There are two ways to talk about the present in English:

Present simple and Present continuous.

Present simple (= usually, every day)


Example:
Stephanie works in an office every day.
She usually types many letters for her boss.

Present continuous (= now)


Example:
Today is Monday and Stephanie is working on a computer.
She is typing a letter now.

Simple Present Present Progressive

in general (regularly, often, never) right now


Colin plays football every Tuesday. Look! Colin is playing football now.
