from Axel Polster (privately):

Hi, please, can you share the srvsap33 screen?

from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
Hi
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
sharing
from Axel Polster (privately):
there was no space anymore for hsmfs02 . The hanging migration jobs has blocked
reading data.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
but the space is available in filesystem as shown
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
so what is the resolution to issue now ? is it working automatically fine now ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
I have added the last space to both hsm filesystems. You should add at least 2TB in
volume group vgGAMcapacity_1 and vgGAMcapacity_2 to have enough space for the next
time.
from Axel Polster (privately):
It should now working well again for the next weeks.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
thanks
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
df is working on srvsap30
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
one question
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
I can see that FS has around 1 TB each still
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
not clear where the space was exhausted ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Yes, but these are only "Cache" filesystems. The amount of data, accassible through
these filesystems, is around 10TB.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
can you advise where you checked space was exhausted ?
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
we can put that to be monitored going forward..
from Axel Polster (privately):
You see a lot of .../dcX00xx filesystems on srvsap33. These filesytems are storing
the data.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
correct..
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
but what we can see is that 10026 and 20026 still have 1 TB of space
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
and that is the case for long time
from Axel Polster (privately):
best way to check the available space is the command "ivdpartition -t hsmfs01" and
"ivdpartition -t hsmfs02".
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
can i run it now ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Yes.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
this is temporary buffer area right ?
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
was this full or the actual archive fs dc* were full ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
There you can see the available space for that Archive
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
1618330 MB you mean ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Yes
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
ok..so you mean this was 100% .. correct ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Not this, but the hsmfs02 Archive.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
ohkk
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
and how was space made added to that ?
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
should it not have used space assigned to /var/opt/ivd/dm/dc20026 automatically ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
No, new space has to be added manually.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
yes..we will add that..but for now how it was fixed ?
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
you made this remaining space on /var/opt/ivd/dm/dc20026 avaialble to the this FS
right ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Because, normally all attached storage space will be assigned at the beginning.
But, because of often wrong monitoring, I let be some space left in the volume
group, to solve such cases faster and give the customer the time to order new space
.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
aah ok..thats good and thanks for that..
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
so if we add space to Vg that alone is sufficient..and applicaiton will
automatically use that ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
No, I will have to assign it. But I have to take a look how much is licensed
currently.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
ok..can you please check on that ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
Yes, but it will take a while.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
after that we will request necessary space to be assigned to Volume group
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
ok..then we can take this up further in email ?
from Axel Polster (privately):
I will write a mail, about the license status.
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
thanks Axel for your help..
from Axel Polster (privately):
You're welcome. Bye
from Sourabh Chordiya to Everyone:
bye
