I. Rationale:

Elementary pupils are innately inquisitive where Science makes it to an

ideal subject for them to investigate. Science allows pupils to discover new

things and those that they could immediately apply with their very own

physical being. It provides a vast opportunity for everyone who put much

endeavor into it and is also desirable to consider the fact that it is not just a

body knowledge but also a way of (Flores et al, 2004).

As observed in four sections of Grade III pupils in Sinayawan Central

School, the pupils find the subject matter not interesting upon seeing the

whole principles and concepts. With this, it calls for the teacher to initiate and

utilize a more appropriative and effective teaching strategies such as the use

of Strategic intervention materials that could eventually capture the attention

of the pupils leading to a better understanding of the subject matter.

The proponent will come up with an intervention by using SIM to remediate

the absorbing effect of the grade 3 in Sinayawan Central School. This generally

aim to provide the opportunity to harness their scientific skills and better

understanding through a simple and more illustrative way of imparting the

subject matter. It is also a method to stimulate the activity of the pupils and

thereby increase their level of understanding.

The grade 3 pupils will be handled by the Science teacher for school year

2015-2016 where they will be given extensive teaching sessions.


II. Objectives:

The intervention aims to:

 Equip low performing pupils in Science to improve their academic


performance.
 Provide linkages in school and home instruction.
 Support intervention program using Strategic intervention
material (SIM).

III. Mechanics:

1. The proponent will present the program proposal to the school


principal for the approval.
2. The proponent will meet the parents and orient them the
characteristics of the intervention program using Strategic
intervention material (SIM).
3. The proponent will administer the assessment and analyse the
results and use them as baseline data for intervention.
4. Proponent will make a schedule for the intervention program.
5. The proponent will conduct the Remedial Instruction Using SIM for
Science Grade 3 Entitled “Ang Dalunggan.”
6. The proponent will evaluate the individual’s progress through
posttest.
7. The proponent will conduct the parents and teachers conference to
address the individual needs of the pupils
8. The proponent will present to the parents some strategies that would
teach their children at home such as peer tutoring, adult tutoring,
and family-member tutoring using Remedial Instruction Using SIM
for Science Grade 3 Entitled “Ang Dalunggan.”

IV. Implementation:
This innovation will be administered every 15-30 minutes a day for
whole school year of 2015-2016.
V. Continuous Plan:

1. Provide the pupils with other Strategic Intervention Material


related to senses.
2. Conduct SLAC on Strategic Intervention Material.
