User Guide

This document will help you effectively navigate through the user interface of your packaged course in
order to get the most out of it.
The Package consists of four major sections:
1. Files and folders
2. Main menu
3. Credits page
4. Course Overview

Files and folders

After downloading the .zip file from the Packt website, extract the contents of the archive. You'll find
the packaged course, as well as another ZIP archive that contains the code bundle for the
course — a repository of working code samples that you'll find useful while trying out the activities
mentioned in the course.
The contents of the extracted archive should look similar to the following screenshot:

You can access the course's main page through the index.html file.

1
Main menu

Double-click on the index.html file from the extracted archive. This will open a window in your web
browser, similar to the following screenshot:

 The Video Title is at the top-center of the page (Unity 3D Game Development) and the video
sections are navigable in the middle.
All the sections are numbered in order from the first to the last section. Each section has a
heading along with a brief description, followed by a list of topics covered.
 You can browse through the sections by hovering the mouse pointer and clicking on the Previous
( ) or Next ( ) navigation arrows on the screen.
 To browse within a particular section, click on the Browse Videos tab, present at the bottom
right-hand side corner of each section.
Once you're inside a section, you can browse through the subsections.

2
A course section would appear similar to the following screenshot:

Each section is divided into subsections, and each subsection page comes with a short description of the
content covered in its respective video.
 To go back to the sections page, click on the Main Menu tab in the upper-left corner of your
page.
 To watch a video, click on the Watch Video button, present at the bottom-right corner of each
subsection.
 The Download button provides the option of playing the video in a media player of your choice,
as seen in the following screenshot:

3
Video Playback Tip:

If your browser does not support video playback in the media player embedded in the package,
clicking on the Download tab will provide you with the option to play the video in an external
media player.

4
When you click on the Watch Video tab, you'll see an embedded video player as seen in the following
screenshot:

The contents of this screen are as follows:

 Just beneath the video player is a list of topics covered in the video.
 The Prev and Next tabs allow you to navigate directly within the subsections of the videos.
 To go back to the subsections page, click on the Close button at the bottom left-hand side corner.
 To go back to the sections page, click on the Main Menu tab in the upper left-hand side corner of
your page.
 You can also navigate to the next chapter from the last video in the section by clicking on the
Next Chapter button.

5
If your browser does not support the player embedded in the package, you could click on the image
(where the embedded play should have appeared) to open the video in an external media player.

The buttons on the video player perform a set of functions as explained in the following screenshot:

All the functions are self-explanatory.

To exit full screen mode, press the Esc key on your keyboard.

6
Credits page

The Credits tab is on the immediate right-hand side of the Main menu tab.

You can directly navigate to this page by clicking on the credits.html file from the extracted archive.
The Credits page looks similar to the following screenshot:

This page contains details about the Author and the Reviewer along with Acknowledgements, if any.

7
Course Overview
The Course Overview tab is to the immediate right-hand side of the Credits tab.

It contains a Summary of the topic, the target audience for the course and what knowledge can be gained
