CPAC Meeting #2 Summary (October 16, 2019)


The following memorandum provides a summary of the second meeting with the Merriam
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee on October 16, 2019. The meeting was held from 6:30 pm
to 8:45 pm in the Training Room of City Hall.

Meeting Agenda
The Consultant Team presented and facilitate the meeting with the following agenda:

 Project Scope + Schedule Recap  Subarea Plans


 Analysis Review o Downtown Merriam
o Existing Plans Review Summary o Merriam Town Center
o Crime Data and Population  Next Steps
Projections
o Land Use Analysis
o Market Analysis

The Advisory Committee provided input regarding the constrains and opportunities for the two
identified Subarea Plans - Downtown Merriam and Merriam Town Center. The Committee further
provided a recommendation that the former site of the Lee Jeans corporate office site, east of I-35
and south of W. 67th Street, be a third Subarea Plan location.

Next Steps
Phase 2, Vision, Input + Direction, will now begin and the consultant team will be preparing a
community survey and scheduling the public input events. A joint workshop with the Merriam City
Council and Planning Commission is scheduled for November 6, 2019. The next meeting of the CPAC
is anticipated to occur in the month of February 2020.
