Vacancy Notice – Performance & Improvement Specialist

Job Scope

Working as part of the Operations Performance & Resourcing Section, and


providing support across the PC Operations Leadership Team, Performance &
Improvement Specialist(s) will support Service Delivery by delivering rigorous
analysis, planning, co-ordination, reporting and improvement in key business
areas including Resourcing, Safety and Service Provision to meet customer needs,
NERL targets and support the delivery of the Prestwick Business Plan and
operational goals.

Principle Accountabilities

1. Provide analysis, technical guidance, reporting and support to create


improvement plans that deliver enhanced performance in:-
a. Safety performance and risk reductions across PC Operations.[1] [1]
b. ATC training performance improvements across PC Operations. [1]
c. Service Provision and Improvements across PC Operations. [1]
d. Operational Resourcing effectiveness and efficiency across PC
Operations. [1]
2. Create, and support the effective implementation of, new processes and
procedures across the Operations teams as directed by members of the
Operations Leadership Team or Business/Business Support Manager to
improve performance within Prestwick Operations.
3. Collate and analyse operational performance information to support
effective performance reporting and measurement of safety, service or
improvement activities.
4. Effectively plan and coordinate changes and improvements across
Prestwick centre Operations and potentially throughout NERL.
5. Identify improvements in operational activities and procedures which
enhance performance across the Operations Teams.

[1] It is expected that within this team, Performance and Improvement


Specialists will specialise in certain areas. Whilst having a working
knowledge of other areas, it is not expected that they will specialise in all
areas.

Qualifications & Skills

An excellent communicator at all levels with an enquiring mind, the post holder
will be able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines, often
unsupervised, as part of a small team serving the needs of the extended and
diverse Operations teams, and will be expected to gain appropriate skills in NATS
IT systems and software packages (Excel, NIBS, PowerPoint etc.).
The post-holder will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and
understanding of the processes and procedures which govern and support the
ATC operational environment and a track record in participation or delivery of
improvement activities, together with a sound understanding of the NATS Safety
Management Systems and Processes. A knowledge of CAP 670 / NATS Working
Practice agreements and processes would be advantageous.

Terms and Conditions

This post is a mobile grade and as such, the post holder will be liable for transfer
to any part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the
course of their employment.
