INTRODUCTION

Family is a fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two

parents and their children. Other families called extended families and composed of more
members like grandparent, uncle, aunt, cousin, niece and nephew or sibling -in-law can
be there. In the most societies the principal unit of socialization of children is a family.
A family is a group of people which care each other regardless of the situation.

Nutritional status of the family

Because of a low income family mangapot eat 2 to 3 times a day, sometimes they don’t have
snack in mid afternoon and had only coffee in breakfast. The mother of the family saving the
money because they live with her grand daughter that is bottle feeding

HEALTH AND MEDICAL HISTORY

During my interview mrs mangapot stated that her youngest son have cough and cold and no
medical assistant done,I advice her to seek physician in health center for consultation.other
member of the family is in good condition.

IMMUNIZATION RECEIVED BY CHILDREN

All members of the family receive a complete vaccine. They had BCG,HEPA-B, DPT,MMR

FAMILY CONCEPT OF FAMILY PLANNING

Family planning is needed at an individual and worldwide level, The family that I choose is lack
of idea about family planning. Mrs mangapot stated that she don’t use any family planning
method so she and her husband had six children and the birth spacing is too close, she planned
to use implanon.

HEALTH ATTITUDES,PRACTICES BELIEFS

Mrs mangapot verbalize that “pagkatapos daw manganak wak daw agad maligo at baka umakyat
daw sa ulo ang hangin”this is the belief that she know in their provinces.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND HEALTH RESOURCES

The different factors that affect family health’s are, the weather of the barangay while I
conduct the survey, I seen a lot of dead rat in the street, other factor is sanitation in their home.

HEALTH PROBLEM FOUND BY THE MIDWIFE

The problem that I recognize in the family is lack of income and also privacy because they had 9
members in the family and their house is so small.

HEALTH PROBLEM RECOGNIZED BY THE FAMILY

Because of lack of income and resources, the mother of the family hard to budget the salary of
her husband in food, electricity, and other expences.

REFLECTION/ REACTION

When we went to the barangay western Bicutan to I saw a different lifestyle of the family, one of
the family I surveyed was so sad because of their environment and their house is made of a light
material but they look happy with there situation. for me after the exposure in community I
learned a lot that I never experience before. I thought I was the only one experiencing struggle in
life but when we went to their place and saw their situation, living in a depressed area, I realized
it was not just me.
