Printing Instructions
After printing your Makr project, it's time to trim. Consider these best
practices when trimming your design:
You'll need:
Trim Instructions:
- Place your cutting mat on a flat surface, with your knife and ruler nearby (make sure the blades in your art
knife are sharp).
- Place a single sheet of your printed design on your cutting mat, with the trim marks facing up.
- Align your ruler with the trim marks, making sure the ruler is on the inside of the design to avoid any
mis-cuts into your design.
- Using your knife, make cuts alongside your ruler, following the trim marks and lifting your blade where the
trim marks end to keep the remaining trim marks in place. Watch your fingers!
- Repeat for all trim marks.

Consider these best practices when printing your Makr project on Avery
templates:
- Consult your printer manual for loading and feeding instructions. Many printers have special instructions
for printing on card stock and labels.
- Always test print on a plain sheet of paper. Hold the printed sheet behind your Avery product to check the
alignment of your design. If slight adjustments to your design are needed, you can alter the
Avery Print Alignment settings in the app Menu, under App Settings.
Using Templates:
- Avoid using template sheets with bent corners or other damage--they could jam the printer.
Double-Sided Printing:
- To determine whether your printer feeds face up or face down, draw an arrow on a blank sheet of copy
paper pointing toward one of the shorter (8.5") sides. Then, insert the sheet into the feed tray with
the arrow facing you and pointing into the printer. Print your design. Did your design print on the
same side of the paper as the arrow? If so, your printer feeds face up; always feed your template with
the side to be printed facing up toward you. If not, your printer feeds face down; always feed your
paper with the side to be printed facing down or away from you.
- For best results, insert one template sheet at a time. Allow the front side of your design to dry
completely before reloading the template and printing the back side. Do not allow templates to stack up in
the printer output tray.
