1 Description
The operator unit, Type NA05--U01, controls recording of the heading and the correspon-
ding position of the rudder blade; with twin rudder equipments the position of both rudder
blades can be recorded. Only the status is displayed for additional values such as Position,
Speed, Set Course, parameters of an autopilot, etc. The operator unit receives the input
information from:
-- the STANDARD 20 gyro compass equipment (course),
-- the feedback unit(s) (rudder position),
-- the autopilot equipment NP2000 (course, rudder position 1/2, speed, set course, rudder
limit, method of steering control, parameters for the steering control)
-- the position receiver (course, time, date, position)

2 Operating Instructions
2.1 General
The construction and contents of this instruction manual have been adapted to the system con-
figuration delivered.
The instructions comprise the following
-- configuration--neutral notes and operation instructions in Sections 2.1 and 2.2
-- the operation of the course and rudder position printer by the Operator Unit,
Type, NA 05 -- U 01, Section 2.3 to 2.5,
-- notes for operating the holder to replace the ribbon cartridge or the paper of the printer.
These operating instructions contain all operations in normal operation as well as in fault opera-
tion for all operations carried out via this operator unit.
It is recommended to fold out the page of the Annex; all operating elements and indications are
represented here.
The following equipment operations are not integrated into these instructions:
-- Course and rudder position printer
-- Feedback unit
-- Gyro Compass Equipment
The operating procedure shown in the corresponding chapter is to be followed step by step.
When necessary, helpful information in short form has been added to the figurative representa-
