NO GADGET POLICY

BY: BEJEI C. LONGOS

INTRODUCTION

Life in today's modern era becomes easier due to the

technology. In that "one click" they say, your problem can be solved. As time passes by,
the technology continues to improve and grow. Technology helps us in our daily lives. It
seems that we cannot live without the presence of technology. One of those behind in
the field of technology are tablets and gadgets. This is our main instrument to
communicate with other people no matter how far the distance is. The tablets and
gadgets are also used to gather information through the use of internet. You will not get
tired of seeking information from the books in the library because the internet will handle
it. In just a click, there will be answers for your problems. Indeed, the role of technology
in everyone’s life is immeasurable. But slowly we do not notice that we are being
enslaved by the negative impact of technology especially to students. Should students
bring tablets and gadgets to school? For me, no. Because of this, it initiates the laziness
of the students. Instead of being and focused and concentrated, their attention was
diverted to something else. Such as the Social Networking Sites that really caught the
interest of every teenagers, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You tube and
others. It is alarming because it is also used in such evil deeds just like pornography.

ARGUMENT

According to the Department of Education (DepEd) it is

strictly forbidden within the classroom to bring and use cellular phone to students. It is
reminded by the DepEd assistant secretary Teresita Inciong about the DepEd Order No.
83 issued in 2003, against the bringing of cell phones to school. Said to the report, it
was issued by the law because of the complaints interfering the use cellphones within
the classroom. Among the negative effects of youth addiction and excessive use of
technology, it negatively impacts us especially in our bodies. The youth learns to use
acronyms that are not suitable for students because he/she can carry it on his studies. It
also hindered other students in their future. Consequently, they can’t focus on their
studies. The statement of Department of Education Secretary Alberto Romulo, said it
was supported by the DepEd House Bills 4246 Rodriguez that is in favor to ban
cellphones on school premises so that it can’t be applied to any fraud and misbehavior
just like sending a bomb threat causing to schools for early dismissal.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion there is no good effect in bringing gadgets in

school. It will only bring unacceptable impact on our studies. We are not aware of what
it can affect in our minds. Be careful. We should learn to prioritize our studies first to
achieve progress and success in life. Think of the brighter future waiting for us, so bear
in mind, study harder.
