I. Introduction
According to the lawmaker, House Bill 1799, which she co-authored with Rep.
Emerenciana De Jesus (Party-list, Gabriela), filed on July 27, 2010 and is now pending with the

Divorce is becoming a common event in the lives of many people. It is now easier to dissolve
marriage, and less stigma is attached to divorced people. However, for many, divorce remains a
negative and traumatic experience. Not only does the divorcing couple suffer, but the children are
affected as well.
During a divorce, conflict between parents is often accompanied by less affection, less
responsiveness, and more inclination to punish their children, which leaves their children feeling
emotionally insecure. Children who engage in fighting and stealing at school are far more likely
In the past, concern has been focused on the problems of the parents, but lately there has
been a growing interest in the effects of divorce on children. This has especially been the case
among those in the helping professions who work with children experiencing problems.

II. Key situation
A. Situation
Parents have many worries through their mind. They may worry most about how children
will deal with the divorce. Divorce may increase the behavior problems. Mostly, Children from
divorced families may experience more image problems, such as conduct disorders, delinquency,
and impulsive behavior than kids from two-parent families. In addition to increased behavior
problems, children may also experience more conflict with peers after a divorce. Mostly,
adolescents with divorced parents are more likely to engage in risky behavior, such as substance
use, early sexual activity and more importantly bullying others. Adolescents whose parents
divorced when they were 5 years old or younger were at particularly high risk for becoming
sexually active prior to the age of 16, according to a study published in 2010. Putting kids in the
middle is inappropriate. Asking kids to choose which parent they like best or giving them
messages to give to other parents isn’t appropriate. Kids who find themselves caught in the
middle are more likely to experience depression and anxiety. It can also affect their academic
performance. Children are more likely taking risk with divorce parents. When parents pay close
attention to what teens are doing and who they spend their time with, adolescents are less likely

B. Dilemma and stated opinion
According to Mrs. Guibao, the possible behavioral effect of separated couples towards their
children are
The child finding his/her father or mother, longing, always crying if the presence of his/her
father is not around also the child become liberated in which they have a care free attitude to people
According also to Mrs. Zosima Resaba, if the couple are separated the children are prone to
illegal doings such as drug addictions. The children become liberated, no right manners and
conduct because both of the parents are absence in parenting their child.
In addition, the children become doubtful of all the decisions they have, in every situation

towards their children. Also to give awareness to the people specially to the couples of what are
the circumstances may happen to their children. In addition to understanding how they can

IV. Central concerns and characters
A. Concerns
When we heard divorce couple it is not easy specially towards their children so our concerns
are to alert to the both parents about what are the circumstances may happen to their children. Our
study is concerned with the effects of filing for divorce on the behavior of children. We are
interested in the adjustment of the child to the changes which occur during separation and divorce,
and maintain the attitude that the lives of children are affected in some way when a 2, marriage or
family unit dissolves. A generally accepted, belief is that divorce produces negative consequences
B. Characters
Having a divorce couples lead children to become extremely sad and through this, it
can result a lot of negative effects such as doing delinquent act, hang out with friends with-
out any permission to their guardian, bullying her or his fellow, involving and taking illegal
drug addictions, and worst committed crimes. All this happened because of the absences
both parents. In fact, they should both parenting their children and teach values in order to

V. Ambiguity, assumptions, and inferred insights
Family is a single word, with many different meanings. People have many ways of defining
a family and what being a part of a family means to them. Families differ in terms of economic,
cultural, social, and many other facets, but what every family has in common is that the people
who call it a family are making clear that those people are important in some way to the person
Every members of the family place important role in the family encouraging and guiding
their children to achieved their goals, but however, according to the UN, the country with the
highest divorce rate in the world is the Maldives with 10.97 divorces per 1,000 inhabitants per
year. This is followed by the Belarus with 4.63 and the United States with 4.34. that leads their
children to engage delinquent acts doing hazardous things that may affect them and most of time
they are the one who suffered immediately. When a couple separated children grow up with fear
physically and mentally also on how the way they interact other people. In fact, children must have
supposed to live with their parents for them to be guided, whatever they do. Must also receive love
8
VI. Consideration
All children who experienced and lose their parents separated or divorce. They have the
freedom to do whatever they want because their parents are absent when they need their guidance.
When both parents are present in parenting their children they felt that they are secure, lovable,
and complete. While divorce couples lead their children felt insecurities, guilt, abandoned and
outcast. Instead of good thought are must be in their mind such as learning insights particularly in
the school, exploring about gathering information on how to cope up the stressors at same time on
how to collaborate with values towards other people. Parents should oblige to ask to their children
on what are the happening particularly to personal matter. Complete family who shows love and
care is the ideal type of the community. But because of the implications and temptations, the
children might do things that could ruin their lives. Parents must consider that the child could be
in pain and should understand that why it is hard for them losing one parent.
