MaEd-ELT: Advanced Speech Improvement

Speeches on Special Occasion with the aids of presentation

Professor: Genelita E. Hernandez
Asst. Professor Dorothea Lou C. Peliňo

I take pride in rejoicing with you on the occasion of your graduation. I am also with you in
thanking God for the gifts of life and wisdom. Thank your parents, benefactors, the school, and
resources that may gradually come to the realization of your dreams.

I know that most of you will continue your journey in search of greater knowledge and wisdom
either in the formal school system, or informal schooling at home, in the community or in the work area.
Wherever that may be, I hope and pray that you will always carry with you the Christian vision and
mission which the whole administration and faculty have endeavor to share with you.

Your college or work life would be your next task. Armed with the catholic education, you will be
tested when things get rough. Doing the right things even if nobody is watching will measure you
integrity; at the end of the day whatever learning or insight you have got, big or small, it become a piece
of nation building puzzle.

Remember, my dear graduates, you don’t have to compete with other servants to gain
recognition. You’ll find happiness not with money gained but in making your master happy with your
faithful service. In return, you will be given due recognition not for the gains but for your faithfulness.

Let me share you this line from one of my favorite writers, Leo Buscaglia, “Your talent is God’s
gift to you, what you do with it is your gift to God.” Live out and share your faith to others. Be God’s
effective instrument in renewing your relationship with Him and with one another.

Sail on graduates, God bless you all.
